Hi! Does anybody have a list of all the Duel Degrees offered? I know for MD/PhD, MD/MBA, MD/MPH you need to apply beforehand but how about the others? I know there is a MS in Genomic Medicine, any others? I can’t find this info online :(

Just got the official pre-II R 😢😢😢. Was really kindly written though, so that’s good I guess.

I interviewed March 12th, and I have not received any communication on whether I have been placed on the waitlist or not. Has anyone else interviewed and not received a status update?

Interviewed 2/8, WL 3/25 -- accepted MD-MPH today by call! So thrilled to be joining the Cane family :)

Not the case for me but if you decide to email, they seem pretty responsive. I've gotten replies in the same day on 2 different occasions

same here (except I interviewed late feb). I emailed and was only told that I have been reviewed, despite my portal status not changing. let me know if you email and hear anything else!

Pre-writing question. So on the employment question.....do I have to put down EVERY employment that I've held? Or can I just put down the ones I want? And if I decline to put something down and it later came to light, would that qualify me for dismissal based on the grounds of a lie by omission?

I've had some employment that would be looked at.....very unfavorably. And quite frankly I don't want to be asked about them. If I just decline to mention them, is there any risk of that biting me in the ass down the line should I be accepted?

what's the exact question they ask? and was this under the table employment or did you receive/file any tax stuff for it

I only put down what I wanted because I've had a lot of odd jobs and didn't feel they were relevant to mention. (I got in) Unless you were like an escort or a drug dealer, I don't think leaving jobs off will hurt you or be grounds for dismissal

Is omitting a job I had in high school, grounds for dismissal if I get in but forgot to list it in the employment section (i.e., only listed jobs from college)?

First of all, I think it’s only college or after jobs that you need to report. Also I’m pretty sure omitting something is probably better than falsifying - it’s technically your right to leave out information you don’t want to share. And most importantly, and please correct me if I’m wrong, but schools hardly ever dismiss students post acceptance unless they see you’ve falsified a degree or something like that lol. I’d say just relax bro.

Any current MD/MPH students: Can anyone share when exactly the move to west palm occurs? And is 3rd & 4th year back in Miami? (Trying to figure out housing)

we got a lease that is July 20th-Sept 20th (we have to be in WPB either 21st or 22nd, but plan to move into our new place early). 14 month leases are dicey in FL so be sure to be clear with your realtor/landlord about these dates and that you'll need a 14 month lease

Hey guys if you got pulled off the WL are we supposed to email wiseman to accept the offer of admission? Is that saying like yes I’m definitely coming or is it just to hold your place? Thanks

Congrats! Yes, they will send you an email and just email back like "Yes I accept." No A is really set in stone until the CTE dates, and at the end of the month (April 30th) you can't hold more than one A, so there's really no reason to reject the offer unless you are sure you won't go here. Hope this helps!

Ok so to clarify: we have to be in west palm starting the 21st or 22nd of September. That would be for 14 months? After the 14 months we have the option of moving back to Miami right?

The portal says there is an error in my application.. does anyone know what that means? I'm assuming I got an R because Miami's interview season is over

LOL Onlyfans/stripping?
I admit nothing. But hypothetically would that be grounds for dismissal if it came to light and wasn't disclosed on a question like this? I would rather not get kicked out of med school when I'm 200K in debt because I didn't disclose something and they decide that qualifies as a lie on my application and is therefore grounds for dismissal. I don't think its legal to dismiss for the action itself, but I am worried about the failure to disclose being a loophole for that if someone gets their panties in a twist.

I treated the employment section as a supplement to my AMCAS activities section, just use it to give them a timeline of your meaningful commitments since starting college and leave out anything that you aren't comfortable sharing.

And if it's still causing you stress, use a friend's phone to call the admissions office and report back to us just how much they stuttered in reassuring you that you do NOT have to disclose that lol. Someone's gotta give admissions a bit of entertainment every now and then.

This is a great question that definitely has applicability beyond Miami, and would receive more exposure and hopefully a few knowledgeable responses from adcoms if you started a new thread!

I've been thinking about it, and honestly don't know which way the risk/reward calculation dictates, if you are talking about something perfectly legal but morally questionable, that you would have no reason to voluntarily disclose but could potentially come back to bite you if someone later thinks it reflects poorly on them or their esteemed institution.

I'd love to see the discussion!

I don’t think you need to list all employment on your application, just like you’re not required to list everything on a resume. List the stuff that is relevant and makes you look good.

However, someone who has done the admissions background check more recently than me might want to confirm if you have to list employers on that - I know I’ve had to do that for some kind of background check at some point, but I can’t remember if it was for Med school or something else. If it’s something like OF, where you’re not technically employed and are more of a freelancer, I have no idea if you’d need to list it (I have a feeling you could get away without it, but I am def not a lawyer...)

From this thread it seems WL movement for MD/MPH started already but I haven't seen anyone pulled off just MD list yet

Yeah I wonder if people haven’t posted because it seems odd no one has gotten off MD yet based on last year’s thread

Y'all be easy. I'm not even sure if I can afford to go here lol. It's my top choice so I will see what I can do, but there might be a spot soon unless I figure something out, although I may be reading the COA wrong in which case nevermind.

This may have been asked, but does Miami consider/care about letters of interest or intent?

What is the best time to send them? Earlier in the cycle or is it still worth it to send one now?
I don’t think you have anything to lose sending now but earlier the better before WL movement starts slowing down and if you have other As to leverage
