Hello all. I am a CST and a certified sterile processor; I have been working in indirect patient care for the past two years while taking medical school pre reqs. I have 50 hours of non clinical volunteer experience and about 300 hours of a surgical tech externship. It is nearly impossible for me to find any local clinics that are open during times in which i I don't have work or school, which leads me to the following questions. Will me being in indirect patient care (paid) do nothing for my application, even though I have 300 hours (extern) scrubbing cases? If the answer is no, would it be wise for me to leave my non clinical volunteer position and get a clinical one? Thank you everyone.
