When is the anatomical donor lunch?

I plan to adopt a siamese kitten... for those with cats, was it too cumbersome to take care of one during medschool?
hmm i should find out from jackie first if its ok at UV.

I love siamese kitties!! I hope you are able to get one. I would like one, but my current calico wouldn't go for that. She is the queen.lfesiam said:this fuzzy thing

We've had this discussion in person, ad_sharp. You don't know what you are talking about. We can debate it tomorrow, however, if you would like. Bring it on.ad_sharp said:btw, cats are disgusting animals.

Dr Turninkoff said:A "cat lady" down the street from my house has some cute little kittens up for adoption. If anyone is interested in taking a look at them, I live in the Greens by Mercy Hospital. Also, her kids sell 25 cent lemonade every day in the 100 degree heat from their little stand in the front yard. I feel like such a bastard because I don't want to get out of my air conditioned car to go buy some.
speedo542 said:Dudes, I got a dell!!! My brand new desktop has just arrived. I am sooo excited. The desktop we have now is ~6 years old, and very slow. My husband said not to touch anything, he would put it together when he got home. He obviously doesn't remember the woman he married. I haven't put it together yet, but I have touched. I got the PC and the monitor out and sat them on the kitchen table. I just want to look at them now. They are so beautiful. The monitor is a 20 in widescreen, flat, ultrasharp. I want to see something on it!!
Well, I'm done. I just wanted to share my excitement with you guys!!

Doxie said:Hi future classmates!
It seems i've lost the sheet from the packet about the
BLS certification so i was hoping someone could answer this
question: does the cpr certification need to be adult/child/infant?
I am certified but for adult only, I can't remember that the sheet
specified which certification we needed, so I'm hoping i won't need
to take anything extra. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?
And then do we just take a copy of the cert cards to the dean's office or the originals?
thanks

oudoc08 said:I'm almost positive you're going to have to have "healthcare provider" level CPR, which includes adult, child and infant, as well as AED, BVM, etc., not just the adult Heartsaver course.
Doxie said:I wish i had just gone ahead and signed up for the class OU is
offering. The class I had was 8 hours, so I don't see why it wouldn't
be as good as the four hour class OU is offering...I really need to talk
to the guy, could someone please post or pm me the name of the guy
listed as the contact on the sheet. thanks

I can almost promise that your eight hour class is not going to cut it, if it didn't cover children and infants. You will probably also have needed some type of course over AED. Adult CPR certification isn't enough for a healthcare provider. The procedure for children and infants is similar, but different. However, is still won't hurt to call and check with the school. Just don't get your hopes, though. I bet they will require you to take another course.Doxie said:The class I had was 8 hours, so I don't see why it wouldn't

Ginz20 said:It is good to be back, I just returned from a three-week treck across the Pacific Northwest. This med school thing is starting to hit home and I have to admit I am really getting nervous. How about everyone else? For anyone who has taken the BLS course, did you find the book necessary? I signed up for the class only, and was told that the buying the book really wasnt worth the money.
WhoisJohnGalt said:I think we're all pretty nervous The anticipation is what's killing me more than anything-- I think I'll be fine once school actually starts. I took the BLS course last week, and the book is absolutely, totally, completely NOT necessary. I definitely wouldn't buy it

He's jets down to his own private island with like 10 honeys every weekend, sips pina coladas, and works on his tan.
Having a printer is a good idea. The anatomy dissection guides are all online, so somebody needs to print it out and bring it to lab, or you'll have no idea what to do. A nice way to not get in that situation is to have a printer in the mod. If I remember right, the school doesn't provide the printers (there are two networked PC's in the each mod however).Metaphysician said:Thanks oudoc and Ifesiam for the advice. Does the school provide a printer for us in the Mod? If not, is it a good idea to have one in our mod?

I took the BLS last week. I had also planned on buying the book. They didn't have the book and one of the 2nd years there told me if the book had been there he wouldn't let me buy it... Point, you won't get stuck buying the book.lfesiam said:poop, i already checked the "i plan to buy the book" option...
oh well.
