Not every program is the same, but I think it is safe to assume, that most send out the majority of their invites within a few days. This has been my experience. It is such a bummer when I see programs that I applied to invite some but not me! Hope this helps… probably not what you wanted to hear:oops:

Unfortunately I tend to agree with Sweet Toof. I'm assuming if programs have already sent out interview invites and I didn't hear from them already, them I'm marking them off my list. It is nice when some programs do take the time to inform you either via e-mail/mail that you were not selected for an interview, it's much better than not getting anything and being in limbo. I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of programs still. :xf:
 
Thanks for the advice. I only applied to florida programs. I guess NSU may still contact me or UF naples. My application was complete mid september, so I hope that if I apply earlier next year it will increase my chances. How early is a good time to apply next year???

I would say as soon as the PASS application opens up is the best time to apply, the earlier the better. My application was also completed late, thus I think this hurt my chances for more interviews. Good luck!

BTW, didn't Nova already contact for interviews? I thought I saw someone post that they were already invited more than a week ago.
 
yeah Nova contact some people a while back but last year they contact a group early then later...i think. I'm just hoping I guess.

Pedocrzy...I don't know how most programs work, and it may not be the norm, but someone said they got an invite for an interview at UT Memphis in late September, but I just got a call today asking me to come :)))! Granted they only had one interview date left, but still, maybe there's some hope for your other programs. So many of the programs have their interviews on the same days, so probably if someone declines an invite they might send out more later. Just a thought!

I too applied to Naples and haven't heard back yet.
 
Has anyone heard from NYC programs or Yale-New Haven?

I got one at NYU, not sure if it was as a courtesy...but man tuition at $52,520 a year =( I already paid 4 years worth! haha
 
Cincinnati has interviews 11/14-15, 12/5-6, and 12/12-13. (invited by e-mail). 12/12-13 was full by the time I called them back.

Also heard from Children's Mercy in Missouri by e-mail. Date is Nov 9. Interview is all day, didn't say anything about needing to be there the day before...
 
For those wondering, I know the UF-Naples programs sent out invites - I believe they are interviewing 16 people for 4 spots. I think Gainesville may have sent some out, but they have 2 dates and possibly send out invites on different days - not sure though.

Invite via email for UF Naples yesterday, 10/19!! Interview December 3rd with dinner the evening before. I believe this is the only date for Naples. Pretty sure Gainesville already sent out their invites, not sure if the interviews are on different days than Naples though.
 
Gainesville's invites did go out via e-mail. Dates are 11/12 & 11/19 from what our program director told us. Good luck everyone.

I feel the same way!!! I might have gone two days.... Saturday and Sunday lol!!! On my day off or down time I just can't seem to stay away.... :laugh:

So what is every one wearing to the casual dinner? I hate this part! Any input would be greatly appreciated :help:

I don't have any casual dinners to attend but if I did I would try to find out the restaurant and look them up online to find out the dress code. If it's like a pizza joint then jeans and polo, if casual then dress pants or khakis and polo, maybe a dress shirt tucked in no tie, I definitely wouldn't wear gym shoes or a suit.

Has anyone heard from Children's in Chicago? Its not like it matters much to me cause I've been turned down by every midwest program so far and invited to NYC hospitals LOL
 
Invite for Harvard today via phone...options were November 20th or December 4th. No mention of dinner the night before, but official invite will be mailed soon with more details. Yay!
 
I agree that you should look up the type of restaurant and go from there. At my last interview most of the guys were in slacks and button-ups (no ties, or jackets or anything crazy) and the girls were in casual dresses or slacks and sweaters.

My rule is I wouldn't wear anything to dinner that I wouldn't wear to clinic (on a no-scrubs day of course!)

I have an interview date dilemma as I'm sure other people have experienced. I want to ask if anyone interviewing at Ohio St. or MUSC in December would be willing to interview on the November dates and make a switch with me ??? Long shot, but worth a try. Thanks :)

I have already confirmed my interview at USC on Nov 18th, I emailed them today that I need to change it to Nov 11th. But Nov 11th is full. Does anyone mind to switch with me if you have interview on Nov 11th? I am flying from Boston, it’s difficult to fly from Boston to LA two times in one week or so… :(
I really appreciate your help,
 
Hey all - It's good to hear of all the interview invites that some people have been getting. I've been lucky enough to get an interview with Mount Sinai and Children's Mercy in Kansas City.

Do any of you guys know much about these programs?! They both have the same interview date of Dec. 14th, and I'm trying to find out more about each program before deciding. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I interviewed at Mt. Sinai last year and they are heavily focused on general anesthesia. I also got a sense that they are still working on getting the didactic portion together. It seemed it was a pretty laid back program. Let me know if you have any other ??? about Mt. Sinai.

FYI, UF- Gainesville and OHSU have already handed out their interviews. Good luck guys!
 
University of Michigan handed out interviews too. Not sure of the date, but the mode of invite was by phone on October 2nd according to people in my class who applied there...good luck everyone
