I got tired of wondering if UIC and Children's Chicago sent out invites. I got ahold of UIC, the assistant and she said they will send out invites by the 18th and interview dates will be 11/10-11/12. Haven't heard from Children's yet, they are my first choices! :xf:

Nope!!! Just the only one getting the Midwest invites :laugh: I live in and only applied to Midwest programs. I wish more Midwest schools would hurry up already!:rolleyes:

Hola my fellow Peds lovers!

Does anyone know of any sources of possible interview questions? I remember the one on sdn for dental school being super helpful. I haven't found one with residency questions. I know you can never bank on that alone, but any indication of what we're in for would be nice.

I have no idea other than asking current residents. I"ve heard of some programs ask about current journals you've read...I hope the questions are more indepth than just "Why pedo?" ugh that question drives me crazy! how do you describe something you feel is right?

I haven't heard much other than meeting a St. Barnabas second yr resident who interviewed or was considering an attending position. I'm guessing the attendings may be new grads? You'll find out when you get there :)

I am not sure there is a good answer to that one - I have known people who only had a few interviews and they got in a some that had a lot of interview and did not get in. Whether or not you get in mainly depends on you and your interview skills - a lot of programs are looking for compatable residents for their programs - in short would you style and philosophies be a good fit for their program.
If you received any interview at all it is a good sign - I know our program received in excess of 300 applicants and less than 30 interviews were offered.
Best of luck to all of you and congrats to those lucky ones with interviews - I know that this is an exciting time for you but it is also very wearing and putting many on edge. Just be yourself during the interviews - relax - don't try too hard and have a good time in the whirlwind.
 
what were the modes of invite for san antonio and uic?
 
Question...if we have not been contacted on those date by the school then can we assume we are not getting an interview???
