how does post match work?
Do i need to have anything prepared and ready to send out when the available positions are posted?
wishing everyone with interviews luck!
I dont know anything about Post Match, but I just got a rejection email from Brookdale
Hi everyone,
I very recently decided that pediatrics was for me. When I started researching, I discovered that I just missed the deadlines (for 2011). Although I am definitely willing to wait for the 2012 programs, I was wondering how often is it that some programs don't fill all positions and then accept late applicants. Just wondering. (Please don't get offended by this question.)

Congradulations to those recieving interviews. I would reccomend buisness casual for all dinners (slacks and button shirt or equivilant). As for Interviews the New York schools seemed to be the last ones to send invites (which may even come in early December). For those Not getting interviews the post-match is insane and most possitions as stated earlier are filled by people that already had connections to those schools. I did a GPR in between cycles. I would reccomend doing Externships/Visits to programs to get recognized. They help unless you have a personality that turns people off. I know of even people in their 3rd year of dental school that have visited our program. Some externs definaltly helped themselves by comming while others may have hurt themselves by externing. Personality is huge in this specialty. Best of luck to everyone and I'm sure I'll see some of you soon.
Not every program is the same, but I think it is safe to assume, that most send out the majority of their invites within a few days. This has been my experience. It is such a bummer when I see programs that I applied to invite some but not me! Hope this helps probably not what you wanted to hear
Hey guys, I applied to a handful of programs but had not heard anything in either the positive or the negative from any of them. While, I realize this is not a good sign since so many of you are doing so well, but is it normal not to at least receive rejection notices? Do you recommend calling the programs?
did anyone hear from Maimonides, Yale-New Haven, Interfaith or Harlem programs?
Hello pedo-lovers!!
I have a question and would appreciate your input:
Which of the programs below is better in terms of reputation and training? In fact, how would you rank them if you had no preference for location/city? Monterfiore, Brookdale Hospital, Boston University and Tufts.
Look forward to reading your posts!
Thanks a lot, S
PS This questions might seem somewhat irrelavent to this topic, but I am posting it here as I know you guys have been to interviews and have reliable information.
