Am just wondering if programs are set with all their interviews???Or is it too early
 
I think that most of the programs are finished...esp. from the comments received (albeit nice ones) from the message center that there were lots of applicants, enough are interviewing, you were terrific, but there were no interview slots left over.

They either wished me good luck or we might call you if someone cancels a interview...hmmm...good luck to all as we start this roller coaster ride of waiting, traveling, and crossing our fingers.

There is still hope if you haven't heard from some programs. Many NYC programs, especially the big ones tend to interview a bit later. I got an interview offer from PITT mid february and Washington Hospital Center late march/early april. Case also sent me an invite quite late. Although, most programs will have sent most of the interviews by that time, people start cancelling and programs commonly invite applicants to fill those slots and even add extra dates to accomodate applicants that are invited late/last minute.

Applied to 40 programs. IMG, Step 1, 2 above 90 and step 3 high 80s. Community program, on H1B. few pubs.. 2 peer reviewed journals, 2 abstracts...ongoing renal research.

Only one interview so far...:(
Is anyone else in the same boat as me?? Getting really depressed about chances of matching this year...
Please share your experience.

U have company brother....just 3 so far, applied 40 on H-1B.........It is ridiculous, there is no money in nephrology and the life style sucks and still what the hell! the competition .........i cant believe it.

Hi all..

Well I believe we are in the middle of the invite season if not tail..

New year been a bad start for me ..no new invites.I am definitely expecting some more...

Any body heard from Arkansas,Kansas,Allegheny,Missisipi,Wisconsin,Texas A&M,dorchester,dartmouth,emory yet....

As Neelrai, suggested its time for us to share our expereiences.

I have my IV's next month so will write soon.

My friend went to Umass...said been Iv'd by 4 people, pretty easy going semiformal, no clinical questions, asked about wht researh interests etc...

will write as I get it....:)

SLU said no,
and finally a no from Maine...hope this makes the rest of us feel a little better.

Definitely humbling...and there's always next year. Now I know where not to apply next time-should there be one. Will probably look into research if needed also.

I'm with you on this.No IVs for me either.:(
Guess will have to try again next year.I wonder if anyone on this forum applied in the NY area,because I don't see that anyone has received any invites from the NY area(except one from Elmhurst Hospital).
 
I got interview for NYU.... I did not get anything last week :confused: No rejections either which makes me a bit more hopeful. I am interested in chicago and DC area. I wonder if they are still offering interviews? Any idea?

Glad to know I am not alone...clearly fellowship on H1B is tough! Please share any news good or bad...will continue to be optimistic...even though my ERAS is completely inactive for the past week...
 
I'm a bit upset too that Chicago and St. Louis didn't call. Doesn't make any sense...

Programs commonly do not contact some applicants. I never heard anything from any Chicago programs either when I applied. I don't know why at least they don't send a rejection email....maybe it has to do with the total number of applications they get and find it to overwelming to send rejection letters to everybody...who knows.

Jefferson Medical College/Christiana Care has filled its spot. They sent me an email not to come to the INV any more.
 
That sucks!!!! Are they allowed to do that?
