I did an away rotation at Nebraska but haven't gotten an interview with them yet? As soon as I get it I don't want it to conflict with my other interviews. You wouldn't mind divulging the dates that they offered you?

It was a major blow to get a rejection from Utah saying they rejected me even after doing an away there.

Don't sweat the Utah rejection. I did an away there too and didn't get an interview, then I matched at Iowa last year. (I also got interviews at several programs much better than Utah.) This process doesn't always make that much sense... Good Luck!!

I'm already having to cancel some of my handful of interviews due to scheduling conflicts. This is getting frusterating. For example: Northwestern, UC Davis, and Iowa offer the same 2 dates*...

Does anyone have any suggestions or ever hear of schools opening up alternate dates or squeezing in extra people on a particular date?



BTW: I've seen the terms "batch" and "tier" - what do these refer to?

Batch refers to the way that SF Match distributes applications. Basically, all of the applications received by them in a given timespan are sent out together in a Batch. So the first applications that went out were in Batch 1, and the last applications were in some high number batch. Tier just refers, I think, to program rankings. As in certain ophthalmology programs are in the top tier, other programs are in the middle tier, etc.

As for your other issue, I'm afraid I can't be of too much help as I am having the same problem. If there is really no way to schedule around it, I guess we just have to pick our favorites, cancel others, and hope for the best .

I liked it there. It's a small program; 2 residents per year. I called them up and found out that they were a bit behind in sending some of the invitations because of the aao meeting and I found out that I was invited for an interview.

The only problem with modifying our old posts is that I really don't think it is that convenient to go through everyday and look at everywhere you guys got offers at to see if offers have been released for the particular program I am interested in. I only post my offers if no one else has already posted. I don't repost offers that others have already gotten. I think that is the best way to reduce the size of this forum. And it will still allow us to still see what new places are offering out interviews. If not then we can try to modify old posts. Let me know what you guys think.

That's true - its a bit much to scan 12 pages to see if there are any updates.

The only way the "update" strategy would work is if we started a new thread, and each person only posted once and updates it.

It seems like the only way you can know you're NOT going to get an invite is if you are told so. For instance, I thought UW-Madison was done with their invites and then I got called two days ago to see if I could interview there Nov. 4th.
