Their interview dates are 12/10 and 12/16... You might want to call and find out whether you have an interview if you think you might. Their number is 212-979-4495.

I'm a graduating senior at a U.S. med school. I applied to 30 programs and have only received 3 interview invitations so far. I'd like to be proactive about this. Can anyone comment on whether it would be productive for me to call programs I'm interested in? Would this just be a nuisance to the programs or could it actually help get me more interviews? Any thoughts?

I also was on the waitlist, however was taken off it yesterday and given an interview, so don't worry you still have a shot. :luck:

I think is good to call. They may give you a second look as people have to drop interviews due to conflicts.

There's not much you can do at this point. FMG's who get in do so because of connections. It's difficult for FMGs, but not impossible. As a FMG, it's more about who you know than what you have on your application.

Anybody hear anything from Michigan? I called and they said they're still handing out invites...also at this point is it just going to be last second invites from others who cancel? Or are there any programs still handing out a second round of invites? Anybody?
 
I recently heard that the average number of CAS applications per applicant is significantly higher than ever before. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of last-minute invites being offered in the coming weeks as folks make cancellations.
 
Anybody else interviewing at Duke December 2nd and UNC-Chapel Hill on the 3rd? Is it going to be possible to attend Duke's grand rounds on the morning of the 3rd and make it to UNC's interview by 9:45?

I just spoke with the education coordinator and she said she would send out an email tomorrow. She seemed a little flustered and said her computer wasn't working so she was unable to give me any info over the phone other than that.
 
Apparently the 8th filled up pretty fast as I got an email saying that the 9th was the only day available even though I responded to the email within a few hours...still hopeful that I may be able to get the 8th but otherwise I guess I'll have to give up Columbia...darn...I was hoping to see the place...anyone have any advice on this?
 
yea i responded within an hour or so- so hopefully i will get the 8th... :luck:
 
yeah it's kind of strange. I responded to the email about 4 minutes after I got it asking for either the 8th or 10th. Didn't hear back until 2 days later with an email saying only the 9th is available. Not sure what happened, really.
