Zenge's Casino WW: A RebiWWth and Rebwwilding GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm off limits today
I would add a dollar to your bet
But it’s too perfect as is.

Hi everyone! Long time no see! I can't remember the last WW game I was in and I'm pretty sure the last time I was really active on SDN was when I ran WWizards. I am working at my school's ICU 3PM-12AM EST today and tomorrow but I am going to do my very best to be active (I've missed WW). Here are my thoughts so far.

-AM wasn't the first to post. Not saying that makes her wolfy necessarily, just noting it here...
-The betting mechanism is interesting. Props to Zenge for creating it. I am interested in the VCA for this especially since wolves can use their power collectively to sway the vote towards specific players. I am unsure if I have the time or patience to create a vote tracker, but I am itching to with how the game is set up.
-One question for @Zenge142 : can bets be undone before the deadline? I read the rules and didn't see anything there regarding this

I'm interpreting every hmm that samac gives me as affectionate, so I'm feeling very loved today
I was originally deciding if you may be trying to make a power wolf play on me or if you’re trying to get a read on me and then I realized I was entertained by doing it so I keep goin.

I must be bad at first posts in a game lol. I feel like my first posts in a game often trigger my fellow players.

just a note that the ICU is turning away patients because we are at capacity and my job is to help take on new patients so that is why I have a bit of time to catch up.

I'm always triggered by overexplanations of schedules
I think the only time I’ve ever seen it actually associated with wolfing was mkg in England and it’s overall seemed NAI across most games I’ve been in but I get why it can triggering. Early excuses and all.

Yeah I'm not saying it's a good metric at all because I don't keep the positive predictive value in my head. It just always bugs me

K, that's done, so I'm just gonna defenestrate myself and then maybe I'll come back and figure out how I'll make a spreadsheet for this game once my eyes and brain don't hurt so much.

Oho. So now defenestration is legal!

Oh speaking of mkg has she shown her face yet?

I'm just reading through and collecting my thoughts, I figured I should read the answers to everyone's mechanics related questions before posting so I wasn't redundant

ok so just to confirm, once we bet that bet is permanent, but we can bet multiple times on multiple people? and the losing votes/monies are lost to the casino correct? they don't go back into our pocket/hold over to the next vote?
The downside of this system is that it rewards vote-holding. I mean, that’s not an inherent downside and it’s just another layer of complexity in strategy, but since we on SDN generally tend to hold our votes more we should anyway… this close is probably gonna be real messy
hello, it is me, the mess. I promise to try not to do this
Maybe the incentive of voting early = better payout will balance it out
ngl I think the late vote close will also encourage early voting. or at least that's the motivation for me
Uggghh let the alley/Alissa confusion rain down!
just remember, this is really important: Alley has a Y, Alissa has no Y
I got a react so she's been here at some point but hasn't posted

idk why I didn't quote all of them but there have been some interesting things people have brought up mechanically! I know Bread is leading in da monies but honestly not sure if a wolf would flat out ask if wolves could get betting parity on thread. feel like they'd ask that in wolf chat/mod pms

Adding an additional thought of how ties would play out. Though I feel like it would be somewhat rare considering the voting mechanism and a player would likely have to intentionally bet an amount to specifically create a tie.

Correct.

Dubz is winning.

What was your thought? Or is it just that they're rare?
