does it make any sense to complete UCLA's master's supplemental application if didn't receive an email/call for an interview invite? Do schools have several rounds of interview invites?

Only apply to UCLA's masters program after you are accepted to the ortho program.

Do u think it is better to schedule your top choice program later in the interviewing process so that you can get used to being interviewed?
 
Montefiore or UCLA?? Do you know how many UCLA interviews? It's crazy how they call less than 2 weeks before the interview date, and there is only ONE day available. Any insights would be appreciated. :(

I think i would probably choose the Minnesota interview simply because with all those externs that visited VCU you gotta think that a spot will probably go to the ones that put in the extra effort to visit the school. Plus Minnesota is a very strong program.

Hey cl24uw06, I applied to some of those too and others. Didn't hear anything either. I was a little surprised. I guess this is why they say ortho interivews are random?

BTW, do you by any chance know when UW starts giving out interviews or they've done it already? I really hope to hear from them.

I heard rumor that they were meeting today to decide on who to invite, so no they haven't given out invites yet. The only thing I know is there interview day is on Oct 26th so I am sure they will let us know soon. Good luck.

Hi, i completed my BDS in 2005 and MDS orthodontics in May 2009 from India. I applied for MS orthodontics program in 4 universities but didn't receive interview call from any of the universities. My BDS GPA was 3.94 and GRE score was 1290. but i had not taken NBDE . Is this the reason for my non-acceptance inspite of having good 3 yrs of experience in Ortho?can anyone guide me in this direction? now am planning to take NBDE part 1..how can i improve my chances of admission for next year?

For future cycle applicants, apply to as many programs as humanly possible. Selection for interviews is competitive, random, and fraught with favors. Should you end up in the fortunate position of too many interviews, that is the time to cut your list.
 
Hi, i completed my BDS in 2005 and MDS orthodontics in May 2009 from India. I applied for MS orthodontics program in 4 universities but didn't receive interview call from any of the universities. My BDS GPA was 3.94 and GRE score was 1290. but i had not taken NBDE . Is this the reason for my non-acceptance inspite of having good 3 yrs of experience in Ortho?can anyone guide me in this direction? now am planning to take NBDE part 1..how can i improve my chances of admission for next year?
 
I would try to do research fellowship, or do an advanced standing program which is offered in some schools (Extra two years). You will have to take part I and II and do really good in them (90+).Also apply to more schools, the ones that take foreign trained students in particular(Uconn, Boston, UCLA, …).Ortho is super competitive and is infested with connections. Hope this helps.:cool:

Does anyone have any advice on what you should do if you don't receive an interview from a school you really wanted to get an interview from? Do you keep calling to see if there are open spots? Or do you wait until after Match?

Loma Linda usually notifies accepted applicants within a week of the interview date.
 
Anyone with a Oct 20th or 21st interview at NOVA willing to switch for my Oct 22 Interview?? Unfortunately I only have a few precious interviews and they overlap. Please let me know ASAP. PM me and we'll see what I can do to compensate you.
 
Are these dates real, louisville's deadline was oct. 1; how would it be possible to send an invite on oct. 2?
