Might as well, right? Anyone heard anything back yet? I got secondary requests from LLU and UCSF.

ha, i had to make an account just to respond to this.

Don't freak everyone out.....thinking they are behind now. You were just finishing the requirements/apps listed on the program web pages.

Look, here is your UNC 'secondary' at the bottom of the page:
http://www.dent.unc.edu/depts/academic/oms/program/admissions.cfm

Nova:
http://dental.nova.edu/forms/postgradapp.pdf

OHSU:
http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/education/sc...ents/upload/ohsu_grad_application_2009-10.pdf

UCSF:
http://dentistry.ucsf.edu/admissions/admiss_program3-omfs.html#ad4

etc...

LOL, I see. I never would have known about these unless the secretaries emailed me though lol. At least I can fill out UNC and OHSU ahead of time now, thanks!

Might as well start the interviews off, since I just got this:

Louisiana State University - New Orleans: Email 8/18 for 10/26-27 or 11/3-4

w00t!

Congrats! They must see something in you I never have.

I agree with hotrod0917.. guys have done this in the past and it's been helpful to read. Reading a more updated version and seeing what it takes to be an OMFS applicant now days would be great! So please share if ya'll don't mind.

That search button's pretty obscure to me sometimes:oops:
Anyways, it would make more sense/ better information post match.

I'm pretty new to this whole OS thing. I wasn't going to go all-in until I got my board scores back. I think I did ok enough to get myself involved in the conversation. I did score above a 90 (barely), and my gpa is something around 3.67. However, i'm only 16th in a class of 87 ( just barely making the top 20%). My question: is applying to an OS residency kinda similar to applying to dental school in a sense that, if you get an interview they already like your numbers and want to see how you are individually? I want to do an externship ( don't know if i'll have time for more than one with all the requirements we have to get done), and I've got some EC's. Nothing w/ research...I dont really think the school does much anyway. Just tryin to give myself some realistic understanding here.

Dude, this is a valid question, etc. but this is a forum regarding the application and interview process for 2009. Your questions are good ones and I am sure there is a forum somewhere or one you could start where it would be appropriate to have this answered.

Sincerely,

Everyone

Fortunately the military doesn't do Match, but I got in for 2010. They let me know during the summer which is pretty nice.

As for other applicants, I am at LSU and I have heard the magic number here as far as boards go is a 92. Don't know if that is a 100% but just what I have heard from a lot of the residents especially if you don't want to be a red-shirt.

Hi guys, anybody heard anything back ? please update this thread ?

Change it back southOMFS, that graphic looks like one of the crappy trauma pics every OMFS has on their practice websites. Your old one was sweet. Also, thanks for updating the list.

Speaking of that, my buddy discovered something. Every single OMFS website has this picture on it, somewhere. Seriously, just look.

Is it common for interview invites to go out before the program deadline?

Does anyone know if these programs give out interviews on a rolling basis or do they give out all of their interviews at once.
