Interview at Eastern Virginia Medical School :)

I do hope that the programs will tell applicants if they won't be invited for interview. Nobody needs to prolong the nail-biting, stomach churning tension.

How many interview do most people get so far per person?

Heard from friends that St. Louis sent out some rejections and Emory conducted some phone interviews...

I completely agree with panipuri.. Every programs have 1-4 positions. Most of the candidates they choose internally.. I have few friends in couple of programs and they already have candidates so program is not sending any invitations...

Target, could you be more specific about which specific programs are already full or not interviewing?

Not sure avg, but 6 interviews so far, no word from 5 (NIH, GW, Georgetown, UNC, Yale)

I emailed a bunch of programs. I got tons of replies, most of which said that they are still reviewing applications and that they will send interviews mid- september. Don't lose hope guys!! There's still time! :D

Doe anyone write email to every PD trying to get their attention to your application

Rejection from Tulane as well

I think writing email to PD won't make any difference except you know them personally or you have something new that might change their mind such as your paper just got published. Otherwise they must be very busy to get email. Just my opinion.

UW Madison! =)

still I think interviews are coming really slowly!!!!!!!!!

U of Maryland sent invites for interviews. They have 3 positions and probably 15 interview dates.

University of Kansas hasnt even downloaded application..
I think complaint can be made in acgme regarding this. That program takes internal candidates each year...They should not participate in match if they are not going to review applications..thats BS.

But if you know that, then why did you apply?

What other programs do you know of that take only internal candidates

Yale interview, they only have a 3 interview days so either really full or they have less open spots.

Did u guys emailed the program about status of application and then they send rejection? Because I did not get rejection but no interview either.

totally unexpected....
interview from University of Washington, Seattle :)

Good Luck!!
I have 2 rejections!! U of Minnesota and U of Nebraska.
Just found out that St Louis University has more than 150 applicants but have preselected the two that they will take. Interviews will be a waste. No Interviews so far, I am not too hopeful at this time.

Such a screwed up system ! Its hard to figure out what works and what does not. No consistency ! Ughh !

It is still very quiet and slow for me this week :(

The truth is many programs will take an internal candidate or two outside of the match and they don't tell ERAS and you still waste your money applying there without the chance of ever matching there.

I am finding it hard to believe that Endocrinology is so competitive. It is almost like you were applying to Cardiology, GI, Hem Onc!! Anyway, I have a job and a well paying one at that...........as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist. As per the 2011 MGMA compensation survey the median and 60th percentile salary for Endocrinology was less than Hospitalist in Internal Medicine. So, I am not too sad at not being invited for an interview. Good Luck to all that have applied.

Interview invitation from tufts Massachusetts
Emory has sent out all the invitations. I am on the waiting list. I talked to PD at Emory yesterday, over 200 applications.
If somebody got invitation from Emory and doesn't want to go please cancel now :)

endocrinology is becoming very competitive...especially for IMGs...if you look at the previous year nrmp match data....endocrine was the 3rd most competitive specialty after GI and Cards in terms of no.of applicants/no.of spots ratio.....
The reason is the no.of spots are going down due to reimbursement but the applicant pool has remained the same..thats why its getting more competitive...

I dont think money is the reason, people apply for endocrine...i think its love for this subspecialty and lifestyle

i don't think many who go into Endo are doing it for the money...you're right as a Hospitalist, I probably will make more money staying in Hospital Medicine, but I've wanted to do Endo pretty much from the get go, so... (hey I can always moonlight a few shifts a yr to make up the difference)!

i got yale invite so can update list.. anyone hear from gw, georgetown or nih?

Only 1 IV so far.. Just wondering what they r looking for in application?
I have 6 poster presentations, 2 manuscripts published.. , strong LOR.. Visa: EAD.. Don't know what's wrong..
Don't have much hopes now.
