uh, i don't think anyone got an interview from BIDMC

Have an Interview at BIDMC

The idea of the group list was so people knew who is sending out interviews, when In the cycle, and to make it easy for new forum visitors to see the list without having to go through the whole thread. A nice side effect is slowly ramping up anxiety and distress for the rest of us that don't have as many interviews

 The first time I saw the group list I thought it was his own personal interview/reject list, and I was like dam* that guy applied broadly.

Any news today? Nothing for me so far.. Looks like IV list is getting bigger..

I like the idea of group invitation/interview. It is not 100% because only small group of people post here but at least I can see which program that I applied start sending out the interview/rejection. If I dont here from them but other people got invitation so I know I probably dont get it because they dont send rejection.

Has anybody hear from Boston University?

Do you think University of Nebraska and Wisconsin sent out invitation to every candidate who applied? They sent out invitation the next day they downloaded the application and seem like lots of people got interview. Anybody who apply to those programs didnt get interview?

What is MCV stand for?

I also like the group list to get a sense of which programs have started sending IV/Rejections so that I can get an idea. Sure it is stressful but this whole process would be more stressful without knowing something at least from others that applied.

Looks like end of season.. No IVs since last week..

I tend to disagree.....in past seasons, this is how endo interviews looked. Long dry spells.

I feel like more of us would have heard from midwestern/west coast programs before "season" ends. I still think it is way too early in August to say that programs are done offering interviews.

I know for a FACT that at least 1 program hasn't begun offering interviews/rejections. Going to hope that some schools are busy training new fellows and haven't finished reviewing applications yet. That being said I am pretty confident that many competitive programs have completed this process. UVA, DUKE, BIDMC were quick with their IV and rejections. Here is alphabetized :p up to date list from today:
Group Invites from:
BIDMC (Joslin\Harvard):
Brown
Duke
Northwestern
Ochsner Medical Center
University of California, Los Angelos (UCLA Harbor)
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAb)
University of California, San Diego (UCSD)
University of Colorado (UC Denver)
University of Florida, Jacksonville
University of Massachusetts (UMass)
University of Nebraska
University of Pittsburgh
University of Virginia
University of Wisconsin Madison
Virginia Commonwealth University (MCV or VCU)

Group Rejections from: :(
BIDMC (Joslin\Harvard)
Cedar Sinai
University of Minnesota
University of Wisconsin

I have to agree with the above two statements. I emailed some programs and was told with the new cycle, interviews would be sent out by mid to late September At the latest. Granted that doesn't mean they can't finish early but I think there is some time left before the season ends

Interview from U of Maryland

On an average program interviews 5 - 10 applicants for 1 position. The more competitive or upper tier programs interview about 5 and the less competitive interview on an avg about 10.
So it is very likely that many programs have already send out interviews and we dont know about it as sdn members participating in this forum is just a drop in the sea.

If you have friends who are not sdn member and have interviews from elsewhere, please do post here.... Thanks

Oh I definitely agree that we are only a small drop in the pool. And while some/many programs may have sent out their invites, I think it is still too early to panic about ALL programs being done sending invites yet :)

The difference between residency and fellowship application is the applicant pool and the no. of positions available.
I think reviewing fellowship application is very fast.
I think by Mid-August, programs will be done sending out interviews. I dont expect anything after that.
My assumption is any invitation after mid august is due to interview cancellation from previous applicants/ waiting list.
