KCUMB Class of 2013

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Check the date of those reviews. I remember reading some sketchy reviews also but many of them are from 2005 and before. A different company owns it now. The complex has had a lot of work done to alleviate security issues. Anyway, you will be fine with whatever you choose. Best of luck!

<3 I am very thankful to you all for posting some advice. If anyone has anything else to add, that would be super fantastic. Study tips are also appreciated.

Yup, there's some real good advice in this thread, particularly by DiverDoc. Listen closely to his advice. I'll certainly continue to help out as I begin my third year, but at this point in my education, I will be removed from the daily operations of the campus. I think second years, like DiverDoc, are going to better resources for you incoming medical students, in terms of what you will experience on campus and how to best navigate the system.

Ps- i looked for "Spiced" and tried to find any posts about KCUMB tips and couldn't find it. Anyone else have any other luck?

Well, I'll repost some of what I wrote in the early days (it seems like such a long time ago). Take it with a large dose of salt (not to the point of hypernatremia, though), because much has changed since when I was a first year medical student, but you might still find some use for it. Again, the new second years are going to your best resource in term of course work.

There's lots of posts on page 18, so I just posted the entire page. Again, probably of limited value, since a lot has changed (in me and with the curriculum) since I wrote those posts.

Good luck incoming first years and if you have a question for me, drop me a line. It might take me a while to get back to you, but I'll see if I can't help you.

Spiced.

Hey guys,
I moved to KC at the beginning of the week. I was wondering if anyone else was already here, and wanted to get together before school starts. PM me if you are interested. Thanks!

I just got in today so I have to find a place. Anybody know of someone with a house, or wanting to share a house? I have a dog, a border collie mix, so I want a fenced in yard. Heading up tomorrow to look for places.

Look on blackboard. There are some houses/condos for rent listing on there.

hmmm... not too savvy on blackboard. I'll need info from the university to get on there, right?

Yeah you should have gotten that in your matriculation packet. Housing info is under the Community tab, KCUMB students, housing.

Hey guys my roommate Jennifer and I are looking for a 3rd roommate to live in my house up in Gladstone. Its about a 10 min drive from school in a great neighborhood. There is a neighborhood park and pool, quiet very safe, with a fenced in backyard. Rent would be $500/mo but NO utilities! Plus we already have the majority of all the textbooks you'll need. We have a washer/dryer and many of the creature comforts already here. Pets welcome! Give one of us a call!
