Pretty excited to get invitation from Wash U in St.Louis today...
 
IMG in Univ. program. Oral presentations and 3 publications in major journals. Applied to 90+ programs Dec 1st. So far 22 rejections and 2 interviews. Other IMG in similar situation?
 
Going to my first interview ... any advise as to the questions asked? what specifically do they want to know about your research? any strange/off the wall questions that have been asked? below is what I have gathered so far...

- why gi?
- what area of gi are you interested in?
- tell me about yourself?
- tell me about your research?
- what will you do if you don't match?
- why do you want to come here?

I've gone on 3 and they're all pretty laid back. Basically asked me to explain my research and what about their program interests me. After explaining my research they did ask me if i was interested in that particular area or am I considering something else when coming to fellowship. All the interviews with the other faculty were exactly the same way

I'm going to assume that most programs have given out most if not all of there interviews. Hopefully 1-2 more trickle in at this point as people cancel. Has anyone heard from any of the philly programs besides UPenn and drexel. Would love to hear from jefferson or temple!

well, i think there are still ard 60 programs who havent sent out acceptance or rejection.. still time!

I haven't heard back from a good number of places including Stanford, UCSF, USC, Loma Linda, and Kaiser-LA. However, with that being said, i know at least on the interview trial and from my classmates, some of these places have already sent out invites. Keep faith. I had a friend who matched at UPenn after getting the initial rejection and then having to call to get an invitation.

This is a bit unrelated.... but has anyone heard from DDW. There website says emails are sent out Feb 15th. It doesn't really say if only acceptances emails are sent out....

I am doing a non accredited fellowship. Yes applied for GI. I am an IMG. 90 applications and 10 interviews so far.
 
Besides northwestern and UofC has anyone heard from an other chicago programs?

Gastrohope you got a call from reseach track in virginia..don't they require citizenship/greencard for research tracks? do you have a greencard?

Yes Sevenblue. I have O-1 application, which should come through before my training begins in 2011.

called Albert Einstein in Philly last week, said they are still in the process of reviewing applications ....
got a rejection from UMDNJ-Piscataway,
haven't been able to get thru at all to the UMDNJ-Camden or UMDNJ-Newark programs, don't know what's up...... wish I had better news :confused:

I got 3 rejections from Baylor - Dallas in 2 days. I guess they strogly don't want me there!!
 
Update: U of Chicago is done with interviewing candidates for this application cycle.

Any one interviewed at OHSU? Do they have multiple dates or were they all on the same day?
 
This thread has really slowed down. I'm guessing pretty much all interviews have been extended at this point.
 
I actually got an invite to Duke today. In the past couple of weeks, got an invite to Baylor Dallas and an email from UIC saying they were in the process of interviewing.
 
Got UMKC invite today.. does anyone know if they sponsor H1B to exceptional candidates?

Now that most of the interview invites are done, does anyone have any guess / previous match statistics to indicate the minimum number of interviews needed for good probability of matching? I believe this question bogs everyone until the match date.
 
For all you who have interviewed at UT Southwestern, what was your impression of the program? During my interview day, there was only 1 fellow who I unfortnately didnt get to interact with much.

This thread has been quite for a long time. I learned recently about this forum and this is my first time posting. I was wondering if anyone was offered a prematch? I had 13 interviews, all excellent university based programs and I was approached recently for a prematch spot in an excellent program. I was just wondering what are people's thoughts about this? I still have 2 interviews.......
 
LR, You would be crazy not to take the spot if that program would rank among the top half of the ones you have interviewed at.

Congrats to everybody that matched! I was curious to know how people did, but it seems this thread hasn't been active for a while.
