I applied to a Rads OOT. Was rejected due to "missing course requirements." Not sure if I really have missing elements or if this was just a gentle rejection, but either way I am awaiting an email reply. If rejected through VSAS by the school's general away elective coordinator, can I then contact the Rads department coordinator or chair (with whom I have a tenuous social connection) to set up an elective?

If the VSAS denial was an honest rejection due to some disqualifying material (i.e: poor performance), it would be ethical to mention this when trying to apply through personal connections. You're in more of a grey area here...

My guess would be that the coordinator will end up running you through their system anyway, which could display the same issue. However, every system is different so there's really no way to know.
