I'm being optimistic that we will hear something this week. I'm just ready to have that relief after knowing a decision has been made, lol

I just spoke to Walter, who is one of the academic advisors at USA. He told me that the faculty have given a list of students that they would like to have attend USA to the admissions committee to review. So, the admissions committee is making their final decisions this week and then will most likely start calling and emailing people next week but Walter said that it could be a couple weeks before we hear. The wait is killing me but at least we have a little more information now!

Is this in regards to the Florida campus?

If this in regards to FL, does anyone else think this seems a bit ridiculous? The main reason I say this is because they gave the first FL group a "3-6 week" window and they are just giving a list of students to the admissions committee? The system that they currently have in place really needs work. I heard from 5 other schools on average in 2-3 weeks. Idk, just seems off.

Sorry. I should've specified that I was talking about the Florida campus. I think it's taking so long because they had two interview days and I've heard that in the past they've only held one. Either way, it's taking a long time!
 
I don't know if this applies to other campus locations, but for San Marcos, I sent out an email to Jocelyn regarding the status change on my portal and Jennifer Finn, the admission specialist, followed up just a few days later! This is for anyone who saw that their status changed to "accepted".

She says:
"We changed all portal status’ to reflect acceptances, however I am still waiting on my director for the formal email and enrollment agreements.
As soon as I get that, I will be sending everyone a formal email of acceptance.
Thank you for following up!"

So for those of you who saw a change with their portal statuses but didn't receive anything through e-mail and was freaking out about it, that's the reason! :)

Why did they have 2 different interview days if they usually only hold one? How many applicants were at each of the interview days then?

I'm not really sure why they did that this year but I've read forums from previous years and some people found out they were accepted within a week of interviewing because there was only one interview day. The confirmation email that was sent out before my interview day had about 30 people on it so, that's how many interviewed for the DPT program on March 20th.

Let's be completely honest, even if they SAID we won't find out until next week, who's actually going to WAIT until next week to check their emails or their online portal? Not me. NOPE. I will be checking before I finish this post and then again 5 minutes after that, haha. I know they are working hard on it, but my life is technically at stake, so patience is hard. I'm going annoy myself and keep checking until something is official, lol.

you guys are killing me. Congrats on those who got accepted.....Ive been busy working like crazy to save as much money as I can to "cushion" me over the transition.....waiting to hear back from the Austin Campus. I thought my interview and essay went well.....They called me last week to ask if i was still interested int he Flex and I had said No....i had gone to the information session after our interview with another girl.....oh God the wait is killing me.

I interviewed there...i think it was an estimate of 30-40? and they said more than 2 weeks but not more than 4 weeks...by lastest mid may, if you have not heard back call them.....because they are getting ready for graduations and etc

Hahaha I feel you. I check this forum at least 20 times a day to see if anyone else has heard anything so that I can mentally prepare myself to check my email or portal.

I emailed her the week after my interview just to say thank you and she never emailed me back so I'm just assuming that she's really busy. I was going to try contacting her on Monday but then I knew it would be easier to get in touch with Walter than with her. If you do get in touch with her, let us know!
 
Today, I was told that they are currently in the first stage of choosing Fall candidates. In two weeks, they will be in the last stage, so between 1 to 3 weeks we should hear from them via email. Due to updates and changes, they are running a little behind. We should know sooner than later.

did you interview on the March 27th date or the April 10th date?
 
Thought I'd let everyone applying to Austin know that I just heard back from Yvette and it will be another 2-3 weeks before the admissions committee finishes reviewing and we hear back from them.

Juan Sierra just told me 1-2 weeks. Don't know if the discrepancy between he and Yvette's responses has to do with interview dates, Sierra just being more optimistic, or USA's general inconsistency in information like this; moral of the story - don't expect anything too soon haha.

I interviewed on 3/27 as well. Let's hope Juan Sierra was right, one week would be great.

Ah! This wait is killing me! Congrats to those who got in so far! Hopefully they will get to the April interviews soon! (Assuming those of you who got acceptances were from the March interview)

No, the only individuals who have heard anything are from the 1st interview in March. Maybe we'll hear back this week, either way, we're next, haha

Hello all,
I applied to Austin and had my interview on 3/27. At the interview there were about 55-60 people and Juan said the decisions would be made in 4 weeks. I e-mailed him on 4/20 and asked for an update and he said end of April/early May. Then I e-mailed Yvette today and she called me and said we would hear within the next couple weeks, but there is no time frame. She seemed really frustrated on the phone with my impatience.... Anyone have any more updates?

I honestly believe that stringing us along this long is only hurting them in the long run. In the 5 weeks since my interview I have been doing serious thinking and no longer feel that the cost and amount of debt I would be in is worth it. I will be working on my application and applying else where next year. If they had replied before I got jaded about it I would have happily jumped on the acceptance. Their loss I suppose, I hope they fix this in the future.
 
Has anyone heard anything from the Florida campus that was at the 4/10 interview? Today is the 3 week mark so I might call them a little later to see if the decisions would be out soon.
