Yes, I think the removal of the 20-second wait between posts is an Advisor "feature." Feel free to post-pad with wild abandon, sophiejane! ;)

Sorry about the misinformation, guys.

Never fear, keep spending your free time (and some of your non-free time) giving unsolicited advice and padding threads on SDN, and you may one day have special powers too! :)

With my interview packet for one of the programs I'm applying to, I was sent the entire Future of Family Medicine Report, and the PDs name was highlighted in blue as one of the primary authors.

I did try to get through it last night while watching the hours tick by on L&D, but the nurses' conversations were far more entertaining and I kept getting distracted.

I'm getting ready to start a rotation where I actually have to be there 5 days a week (as opposed to 3)....

Man, if only 4th year of med school could last forever... definitely miss it.

Hey All,

I wanted to extend an olive branch to the family practice community. I know in the past radiologists have been pompous asses who are often condecending. That is a shame for sure. I have to say that things are changing from my experience. I am a fellow now and many of my colleagues in radiology are friendly, normal and helpful people. I don't know about you guys but I think we both can benefit from working together to provide care to patients and refer to specialists when absolutely necessary. Many of the newer graduates in radiology want to help family practice and first line physicians understand the complex imaging to help you manage and control your own patients. Just a thought.

That's great to hear. I am all about eliminating pompous asses in medicine in general, in whatever specialty they may hide out.

The patients can only benefit if their docs have friendly, functional, professional relationships instead of ego-driven turf wars.

A newly interested third year here. Just doing my duties in OB-GYN and every day I keep thinking more and more Family med, just cuz those are the cooler, more normal people with more normal lives from what I hear. Peds, Family, and Psych are the top three from what I've heard. The egos in the medical field are getting to me, and I just have to keep on trucking and faking it till I make it. I know there are egos everywhere, but men. Please tell me that family med docs are chilled and cool cuz that is my personality and I definetly want to do something that meshes with who I am. Anyhow, that's all for now.

With the possible exception of Faebinder, nobody here has anything against radiologists. The only reason I picked the Radiology forum as a target was because the post count was slightly higher than ours.

However, you have been pwned. ;)

Cool? Are you kidding? We wrote the book on it. :)

The only specialty that might be slightly more chill (though arguably a bit more odd as well ;) ) is psych, or perhaps PM&R.

Are you serious? Every radiologist I've ever met have been pretty cool.
