Can't believe it still! Applied very late in the cycle but I am so pleased with the outcome! I have yet to hear back from 6 other schools but at this point I'm wrapped :) Second semester senior hollaaaa

you had two deposits down or you were able to call the schools back and convince them to take you back??

Plus - no one enjoys living in philly.

It’s the university of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).... I know the states abbreviation. The context above gave enough to assume what he meant by AB.

I would agree with that price point for a school. Can’t turn that down.

It's confusing as hell with University at Buffalo in the mix! Why couldn't they have stayed SUNY Buffalo?

I am so happy with my final choice. Pitt is everything I wanted in terms of clinical experience, curriculum, location, expenses...and most importantly, the people (students, faculty and random people I met while in Pittsburgh) were so, so nice :) Congratulations to everyone!!

This was a really tough choice! Rutgers and Pitt both had faculty and students I could tell were energized and excited about their schools. A positive, energetic culture isn't something that can happen by accident, and that was probably the number one thing I looked for in my interviews. I ended up picking Pitt in large part because the flexible module curriculum appealed to me, and because they put an emphasis on progressive preventative practices. I wish I could go to both, honestly.

I want to believe that you declined Harvard, UConn and Columbia for Pitt, but I just can't ... :confused:

You gotta follow the money! Are you telling me you would turn down a great scholarship at an upper tier school to pay full price somewhere else?

@OoPredentoO Money was definitely a motivator (the money I save can be used to buy a house, practice, etc...that's huge!), but even so, Pitt is a great dental school with a program that I loved and people with good energy. Bottom line is, wherever you end up going, you are going to graduate as a dentist :)

Question....If a deposit is placed at one school and you are on the waitlist at other schools, does this affect getting off the waitlist at other schools?
