What made you pick ECU over UNC?

The $60k price difference, logistics of the day-to-day at each school, recommendations of dentists I shadowed, and my interactions with each school. At ECU you basically do a mini-residency your fourth year and you gain a lot of experience working in the CSLCs. Also, ECU just seems way more tuned in with their students and I really respect the administrators and faculty who help create that environment.

Shockingly am hearing from lots of GPs and UNC students that ECU is far and away a better clinical program than UNC.

ECU is also still developing its curriculum and I think that will be very beneficial with the new boards coming up

I agree. They’re taking it very seriously. Integrating all classes, really simulating the new NBDEi with their exams. I’ve heard no complaints about the program.

I'm attending Penn and turning down Marquette, Iowa, Colorado, Utah, Michigan, and both Midwesterns

Interesting, why?
I suppose for me to answer properly I need to know why is that interesting to you?
In short, I believe I will leave UNE a better general dentist than I would if I attended Boston; plus my husband and I aren't city people.
