I've always tried to be cognizant of racial disparity and do my best to be an ally in the fight against racism. I'd argue that listening to the stories of people who face a different "type" of oppression than your own is integral to the social justice movement as a whole. My biggest problem with feminism as a whole is that it has historically and culturally been focused around the needs of upper class, straight, white women. That's a problem, and why I do my best to recognize my own privilege. So I resent your implication that I don't empathize with men of color. You have no idea what my life is about.
