I recently found out, to my dismay, that my last name translates directly to "rectum" or "anus" from Slovak. Luckily, I'll be on the other end of the GI tract. Still takes away some of my pride in my Slovak ancestors, though.

There's a girl in my class whose name translates to "******ed" in Greek. :)

I don't think I've seen these before:

Dr. Fingerer: Pediatrician
Dr. Dickgraber: PharmD

Less funny but also interesting: I once had a pediatric allergist named Moshe David Krayanek, MD. He used to confuse the crap out of me because of the sign on his door:

M.D. Krayanek, M.D.

When I volunteered @ in a local emergency room, one of the PGYI EM residents had the very cute name of Dr. Sunshine

Also, one of the Adcom members @ Mt. Sinai is named Dr. Butts (pediatrician).

I occasionally see scripts at work from an out of town doc named Dr. Shugar. If I remember correctly he is an opthalmologist. He should have went into endocrinology so he could have been a diabetes specialist :D

Ah man! that was good. I'm Asian and will be going to a DO school so I'll memorize that one and go tell people!

My father's surgeon was named Dr. Payne. It's not as funny written out, but when you're nervous about the procedure to begin with, having your surgeon walk in and say "Hi my name is Dr. Pain and I'll be operating on you" can be a bit nerve wracking =P.

One of my classmates' last name is Love so he will be Dr. Love in about 3 more years.

I knew a dentist named Dr. Payne. License plate: Paynles I thought it was kinda funny.

The clinic that I work at has an Ob/Gyn Doc that volunteers once a month named Dr. Yeast!

It's pronounced YAY-st (he insists) but it's just too funny to think about his being destined to be an Ob/Gyn from birth...

Henry Bone III - one of the best osteoporosis specialists in Michigan.

The former chief of our local ER was named Joseph Obebe (pronounced "oh baby", lol).

Dr. Adcock (gynecologist). My friend went to him through a referral and didn't really know the name so she asked the office girl to spell it for her. She could hardly contain herself.

The chief of one of our ER's locally is named Dr. Slaughter. We also have a Dr. Leach ("Not spelled like the blood sucking parasite" to quote him)

Dr. Clearville. Pronouced "clear view"

It would be cool if his first name was "Les"

Do you think Dr. Sinn is funny? I guess it would be worse if he were a preacher, right?
