Waitlist pact. If you are put on the waitlist, then a post will be made.
I have a friend who I interviewed with get off the waitlist yesterday. I am just not sure how it all works. But I know there's still hope for all of us!
Pact is on yo.
My understanding is that no more than the top 30 will be notified, but that as the ranks move, you’d also be notified.
No word so far. I’m expecting before the 15th.
If I get an R, I already prepped my app for PNWU with some of the additional things I’ve added as the year has gone on. I won’t apply anywhere else.
Just got the email! Top 20!!
Nice! Mind sharing your stats?
Didn't get ranked so I will be withdrawing my application, good luck to all!
Thank you!Was holding on to this acceptance, but I have decided to go with another school. It's very clear by some of the posts here that many of you waitlisted folks will make excellent physicians. Hoping it goes to you!
Just curious if anyone had heard anything recently...I am ranked in the top 20 and I know it’s still early yet, but this whole waiting thing has really put me on edge.
What are the chances I get an early II this next cycle? I want to get on the first interview slot. My new app will have 1000 hours of new clinical work my old app did not, as well as two new publications... but I am worried that if they didn't rank me this time they will just put me at the end of the list again
So I am a little bit confused by the dates of the AAMC and AACOMAS application. They are open now and get sent out the 31st and 15th, respectively. Does my submission to AAMC and AACOMAS before those dates affect my spot in line at all? My application is mostly ready for both.Keep your head up. I've heard that a lot of schools like reapplicants (and some give preference), especially if you are able to show that you are continuing to grow and show commitment to becoming a physician. The clinical work and publications should get their attention for sure. The earlier you send in your app, I think the better the chance for an II, as long as its ready to go. It seemed to me that they were pulling several people off the waitlist through the year too, so if you are placed on the waitlist again, you can always send updates and an LOI too.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so. I think everything is sent to them in a batch on those days, but I could be wrong. I wouldn't sweat that deadline too much, yes you want to get it in as early as you can, but you also want to make sure that you present them with a good picture of who you are and why you want to be a doctor. Personally, I wasn't able to submit my primaries to DO schools until October (I was given bad info and didn't verify it for myself). I didn't get many II, but I did get enough to have made it worth while. So I am a little bit confused by the dates of the AAMC and AACOMAS application. Not yet.....who wants to be the sacrificial lamb and call about updates?Has anyone heard anything recently?? I was unranked but so desire to attend this school next year!!
I called admissions today. They said the list is beginning to move and there should be more offers going out towards the end of the week. However, she did not specify how many. I also asked if she had seen much of a difference with the new MD CTE deadlines, she said that they have not seen any noticeable differences thus far and everything is moving at about the same pace as it has historically.who wants to be the sacrificial lamb and call about updates?
Accepted! Was in the top 20. I hope you all get a call soon and I get to meet you in Yakima!
Just before 3 MST. Don’t worry. If you didn’t get the call yet I’m sure you will soon! What time did you get your call?
Congrats @curr4410 and @Doc Green! Can you help give us a sense of the movement in the waitlist by letting us know what rank you were at before you got the offer? If you had been #20 and got accepted, for those of us who were unranked and still haven't been notified of anything else, it would let us know a rough probability/whether to reapply now or hold on to the $$ for a few weeks longer. If anyone started unranked, but then got ranked, could you describe whether you got an email notifying of that?
Edit:
I pulled up my notes from the open house, I thought I had posted about it but I don't see that I did. LeAnn Hunter said that they expected to make 200 offers by the end of April. Last application year, they made 262 offers by the end of the season. That would suggest that if the waitlist usually averages 100 applicants, 62% of them will receive an offer by the end of the season. Of course these are soft stats - we don't know how many offers went out before WL last year, the true size of the current waitlist, or whether the number of students who deny the offer is historically on track. But it does shine a ray of hope.

Hey,
Like curr4410 said we were both in top 20 and it looks like wannaBtraveling doc is now in top 10 so the list is beginning to move. I don’t think they send out a new rank email until they have exhausted the initial list of 30 (I’m pretty sure that’s what they did last year.)
I don’t know if it’s the best advice, but honestly given the numbers you cited I think I would wait. I think there is still some movement to be had. I don’t know if you have been following any of the MD or DO waitlist support groups, but there has been a lot of talk about the commit to enroll deadlines for MD schools, along with speculation that is is causing an overall slowdown in the acceptance process for both MD and DO schools. Especially since there are a bunch of people that could potentially be hanging onto a DO school acceptance but are remaining on an MD waitlist with hope to go to that school instead.
You do get a better chance of acceptance if you get into an earlier interview, but I didn’t even put in my app until either late October or ealy November, so there is still a chance even if you put your app in way late.
One option is that you could give the admissions a call. They were incredibly friendly and helpful when I spoke with them a few weeks ago. If you do call them please post any info you have on this board. I have a friend who went unranked too, if she gets an email I will definitely post so that to let you folks know that more movement has occurred.
Until then good luck to everyone!
I was so excited I never asked how long I had to decide. I just said yes. But they then said that I had 3 days to put in my deposit. So I think technically I could have said yes and then decided whether or not I wanted to go, but they may be moving faster now that we are in June. How long were you given to make a decision after the call?

If you are the waitlist for multiple schools I would try to weigh out which one you would prefer to go to first, but accept the first acceptance you get. It is hard to swallow a thousand dollar fee, but to me it is worth paying it to ensure you get to go to medical school. This is what I had done and was really glad I did...I ended up getting two acceptances 3 days apart and it really helped me because I already had my decision made.
Congrats on RVUCOM! My neighbor went through their program and he loved it. Thats a pretty high deposit, but at least you know you are in. I think there will still be more movement coming up.Yeah I already put down a deposit at RVUCOM in Utah
Just got a call about receiving an offer (needed to give immediate response) and decided to turn it down. Hope it goes to one of you guys!
