Is Walter Reed not taking Gen Surgery residents anymore? I see on ERAS that the NCC in DC lists Physician only, any idea what that means?

I'm not sure what list you're looking at, but when you apply to Army GME & FYGME, Walter Reed is actually listed as NCC.

Im looking at the ERAS form --> Programs --> search for DC and general surgery which lists:

National Capital Consortium (NCC) Program, Washington, DC
ACGME ID: 4401011007, Surgery-General
- Physician Only Training Offered

It may be the difference between internship and residency. As I recall, for ERAS you have to apply to the Army internship program even if your program has a continuous contract. In other words, they may have the surgery residency listed separately from the surgery internship. That's really just a guess though.

I think if you go to the Army GME website, they have the ERAS codes listed for all the Army programs. That should provide a more direct route.
