I am interested in doing an MD/MPH while in med school. I just did a summer of lab research, but does anyone know of a summer program geared toward a public health focus? Do those even exist? Thanks.

Just a little googling, but I found these:

EPA summer undergrad fellowships http://es.epa.gov/ncer/fellow/

CDC Summer Public health fellows (for minority undergrads) http://www.cdc.gov/hrmo/intshps2.htm#PHSFP

Summer research at UNC http://www.ibiblio.org/res/undergrad.php

Our (U Iowa) SUMR research for students interested in physician scientist programs also allows students to do public health related research http://www.medicine.uiowa.edu/mstp/sumr/index.html

There are probably lots of others but I'm tired :)

Plus, my friend's daughter (a junior) found an international global health summer fellowship. She went to China this summer and worked at Peking Hospital doing some pretty cool epidemiologic projects.
