mine was on sept 21. the experience was great. very friendly atmosphere. when was yours?
 
i was interviewed at upenn,,, i dint get any results yet,,but i just want to share one thing to all who goes for interview at upenn,,dont move ure hands much while talking in an interview,,i did the mistake and i think that is gonna negatively affect my interview,,,after googling a lot came to know that moving hands while talking in an interview leaves a bad impression and the interviewer was noting down when i moved my hands,,,,,so make sure u dont move ure hands much,,i know its sounds funny but i think they observe the body language a lot....i donno what my results are gonna be ,,but to all those who will be interviewd just wanted to say this ie all,,its a great university to study,,so i know how hard u all must have worked to reach till interview,,so it might be a small fact but still keep a note in to it,,,notheing to loose,,God bless all who is wiating,,, and being interviewd.....

Alhamdullah, I got accepted at University of Pennsylvania:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:.
even I also got accepted at UIC but this still great news for me.

Just got my acceptance letter for Upenn!!!! so so so happy!!! after going to all the CA schools interviews and having to wait for one month for there results, I just feel so relieved! Good luck to everyone! :):):):):):):):)

Just out of curiosity as everyone says Upenn is an expensive school, I was wondering apart from 19440 summer fee what is oal cost for 3rd and final year

I got acceptance from UPENN.... just came back from NYC... and found the magic letter at my home.... Am so glad and relieved. It will open up another seat at Uni of Minn :)

i agree with hammoudeh 71. if some of us get iv or get accepted does not mean that they should be calling it a transparent interview selection and acceptance process despite the bitter fact that it is not at all. it is not the first time that i am hearing this thing about UPENN Pass Program. I have heard that despite being known for experience people, it is accepting people and even interviweing candidates who have lesser experience than many others who do not even get called for interviews. this surely is a random, and NON TRANSPARENT Process. this issue MUST be addressed by the selection committe at UPENN. Also this is not a separate issue that should be discussed in a separate thread ia m sure candidtaes who will be applying for this school in future would like to know more and more about it not just who got iv calls, rejections and acceptance. it is their right to know about the process and school before any one makes an important decision of their career. :eek:

Hi guys after getting acceptance from 2 dental schools here in USA "UIC & Penn.' i wanna tell u something. first of all it is not the mattar of your grades if u pass part 1 and 2 then it doesnot play big role how much u scored, from my experince as i been applied to dental schools here in USA for around 3 years, the secret is how u present yourself in other word how u sell yourself, you must and i am saying must have a USA experince as a dental assistant that is #1 after passing part1, 2 , and toefl. #2 you should study the university that you going to interview in, yes you have to know when it was established and brief history of it then you have to use your mind and think what the addmission committee of this university like to hear from u what they looking for and can find it in you.be yourself and keep confident.
about myself i have a DDS and MDS , i am specialist as an oral and maxillo facial surgeon and have a master degree , but even though that is not the reason why i got accepted , my scores in part1 and 2 are not high at all but without a dental experince in USA it is really hard if not impossible to get accepted in dental school.
we all are in the same boat no one is better than the other so guys look where is your weak point and try to cover it that is my advice to u all and good luck to all of u .

Sept 21st and thanks a lot. It was a wonderful experience there. Just be yourself and come across as a person who is confident and believes in self but not arrogant at the same time.

I personally feel some US observership and research experience with a publication in US were the factors that played a big role in UPENN and UMN. I was a re-applicant too.... but the main thing with that.... you have to show tremendous improvement in ur CV... should not look same as compared to last year. Think well and read many times before finalizing the q's. So is CV and PS. Everything counts.

Different schools have different criteria. But most of them consider the whole package of the applicant: NBDE part I score, GPA, TOEFL score, clinical experience, research experience, published paper, recommendation letter, personal statement etc. There is also another important factor is the ethnicity and the country you are from. No school list this factor in their admission criteria but this is for the sake of diversity of the students. This sounds unfair and cruel but applicants have to follow the rule of the games.

I am in the same boat...... Waiting for answers ..... under review! How can they keep our applications under review for interview and at the same time they are alredy sending acceptance letter?

When did you guys apply to upenn? Was it near the deadline?

I got the same answer and i applied towards the end

Two possible reasons:

1. There are too many applicants. It takes a while for them to send out the rejection letter to applicants who haven't received acceptance offer;

2. So far UPENN only interviewed half (or certain portion) of the applicants. There are still some open seats. There may be still some chance for applicants whose applications are still under review.

No rejection letter is still a good news!
 
They had around 600 applicants this year. They'll be interviewing a total of 70 candidates until december. so don't loose hope
 
hey guys i called them a day earlier of recieving my letter and they still told me up until now that they have not made a decision yet regarding my application! and in the mail i got a rejection letter, it would have taken atleast 4-5 days or more to mail the rejection letter n they still told me that no decision has been made yet ,it is under review and i had also applied in the last 2 weeks! they said on the application that send it a month in advance ,i think they r not considering the late applicants unless they have out of this world extraordinary qualification. i should not have sent my application in the end days !blew my chance at upenn for next yr too coz i dont think i can improve my resume !
 
That is not true, I applied on exact deadline date and I was considered. Its just that school is one of best and top ranking, Hence they look for extra in every applicant other than numbers. Numbers really dont tell anything as there are people who have spent half of their life taking board as compared to recent applicants who only had one chance. It is a good school and Iam glad that there are schools like Upenn in this country that look at your experience in details, take pain reading every single of over 600 applications they received . So if u want to get into best then competition is tough and numbers alone say nothing. Getting into Upenn is as getting into Harvard or Yale as it is one of Ivy league schools and one of best dental schools in country and also I think No 1 for PASS program based on their curriculum and facilities

Does it mean that they are done with all the interviews and acceptances?
For those who haven't received an interview call,they are saying the application is under review[Said the same to me].I hope they are not done,since I too kept hopes of getting a call....!!
