haha! majha naav ahe Neha. Bahutek marathich naav ahe. Actually mala pan mahiti nahi. barech lokanche aste "neha" naav. Anyway. i like my name whatsoever.. hahah!!

GUJUDOC you can not see marathi people in univ ?
It may be because many Marathi people don't feel comfortable to speak in their mothertongue ( Marathi).
They feel ashamed to speak in Marathi.
I am really proud of all these Non-Maharashtrians ( but Mumbaikars) who are atleast trying to speak in Marathi( no matter grammatically incorrect ).

Hi Im training to be a Nurse and I have been sent out on a placement to a care home.
I'm Scottish by the way.
Anyway, there is a man who cannot speak english he is from Bombay and I think he speaks Marathi.
I would really like to learn some simple words and phrases just to be able to communicate a bit more with him.
He has Dementia and I think he must be very lonely, so I want to do all I can to make him feel better.
If anyone can help me then that would be amazing!
I would like to know how to say:
'I only know a little Marathi.'
'Please slow down, I don't understand.'

Djara saawkash bola, mala kaLat naahiye. ('L' is very hard to prounounce for non native speakers. This consonant only exist in Marathi and few south Indian languages, so it's no big deal if you pronounce it like normal L.
