Q:adminstration of nitrous oxide 90;10
oxigen mixture result in
mtabolic alkalosis
metabolic acidosis
respiratory acidosis------answer
respiratory alkalosis
]

yes but i thought the question aimed at asking systemic effects
i guess more potentially correct way would be primary respiratory acidosis and compensatory metabolic alkalosis...... ( pls correct me if a wrong with expln)

anyone else has any other opinion??
Truthseeker, I will still agree on resp acidosis because question is not abt compensation.
Did they give answer as metabolic acidosis??

pls correct if wrong.

hey guys i found it its in the decks 2009-2010
here what is says exactly :

Resp. Acidoses : is excessive blood acidity caused by build up of CO2 in the blood
as a result of poor lung function or slow breathing
cause : copd, sedative and anesthetic

if u adminster a high nitrous-oxygen mixture (90/10) to the patient--------> will cause resp. depression and result in RESP. ACIDOSES

THANK U ALL ...
thats exactly word by word from decks 2009-2010,,,,hope this clear !!!!
NOTE: happy thanks givin to all

hey,
the answer is resp.acidosis. becoz of thenitrous oxide, there's a hypoxia which then leads to the resp. acidosis. hope it helps. correct if wrong.

Transmission of impulses from the motor nerve to the muscle cell regularly produces
an action potential in the muscle cell.
a graded potential in the muscle cell- answer
hyperpolarization of the " "
hypopolarization " " " "
alteration of the threshold potential of the muscle cell.
I thought the action potential is the answer since the nerve transmission from the motor nerve to the muscle cell will cause the end plate potential and muscle contraction occurs.
Also the graded potential unlike the action potential will not propagate and stay in one place ie in the cell body and dendrites. Pls do explain and clarify.
During the oxdtive phosphorylation, the hydrogen ion gradient is created using energy from which of the following?
ADP transport
ATP "
" hydrolysis
reduction of NAD+-answer
electron transfers
why not the electron transfer?
which of the following represents the principal allosteric regulator of pyruvate metablosim of the liver?
ATP
NAD
Citrate
Cyclic AMP
Acetyl CoA
Which of the followin vessel has the highest viscosity of blood?
Aorta
Venecave
Vasa recta- answer? not sure.
Pulm vein
Pulm artery

twinklestar123, not sure but imbrication lines are seen on anterior teeth mostly so acc. to the question answer is false.
pl.correct if wrong.

Thanks a lot for your reply teethie.Actually i was doing the explanations by kaplan, and there it says that the 1st premolars also has imbrication lines along with the Max central and canines. So that's why i was confused. So its mostly it anteriors...Once again thankyou so much for your reply.

Vasa recta- answer? not sure.
Pulm vein
Pulm artery

blood flow rate is less in veins compared to arteries.so,the viscosity is more in veins compared to arteries.

Can someone please explain why it's NOT vasa recta? According to every source I've looked at it should be vasa recta.

i think u r right live.ans is vasa recta.becos blood velocity is lower in vasa recta compared to vena cava..and thence higher viscosity in vasa recta.
