The clearance rate for a substance that is completely removed from the blood in the urine during one pass through the kidney is equal to which of the following?

A.Renal plasma clearance
B.Filtration fraction
C.Glomerular filtration rate
D.Tubular transport maximum
anyone answer with explanation please

i think the answer is:
A. renal plasma clearance.....pls correct if iam wrong ! not sure though any sugestions ?

Any substance which is completely removed from the blood into the urine as mentioned in the question must be similar to PAH..since we know this substance is freely filtered, not reabsorbed and the rest is secreted...So the clearence is 625ml/min for such a substance which is nothing but the renal plasma clearence..Answer is [a] according to me..plz correct me if i am wrong

3.wht is meant by VDO?Is it vertical dimension occlusion. In ant edge to edge they say VDO is great.
4.Some questions have a diagram with maxillary or mand teeth and show a arrow representing a contacting area and ask to identify the cusp. How to solve these quest?
5.Please help me with these type of questions?
Identify the mandibular movement? A diagram is given showing mandibular 1st and 2nd p.m ,mandm1st and 2nd molar and a arrow is from the distal side of the mandibular 2nd pm to buccal side of 1st molar diagonally pointing distobuccally? How to solve these type of questions.
Thank you

the lingual cusp of mandibular molars should be restored to accomodate?

centric relation
working movmnt
nonworking movmnt
..........

the answer was given working movmnt can u please explain why???,i thought working is for holding and non working is for guiding???

please i aint no bright guy,,so the question might find silly for u,but i really appreciate an explanation

Hi danyjose,

In normal occlusion, the mandibular lingual cusps are lingual to the maxillary lingual cusps.
But in lateral working movement, the mandibular lingual cusps move opposite to that of the maxillary lingual cusps.
For example Right lateral movements where the mandibular lingual cusps come out of the occlusion from maxillary lingual cusps and move facially to maxillary cusps.

Whereas in centric relation, centric occlusion and protrusion, the mandibular lingual cusps lie lingual to maxillary lingual cups.
So lingual cusps are the ones that change their position in working movements.Hence the answer is working movement

I hope you can understand

Streptococcus Pnuemonia? I am not sure.

hey i got two confusing facts . Somebody pls help

i was thinking in terms of S.pneumonia , since bacterial cause affects mostly adults and bronchopneumonia is seen in elders, which has bacterial etiology.
Also i was under the impression viral causes of pneumonia more common for children since interstitial pneumonia which is linked to viral causes is mostly seen in young children until i found this :

>S. pneumoniae (causing pneumococcal pneumonia) is the most common bacterial cause of community-acquired pneumonia in the elderly.

>Influenza is the most important cause of pneumonia in the elderly

The blood glucose level in diabetes mellitus is decreased by removal of
1. anterior pituitary
2. posterior pituitary

The blood glucose level in diabetes mellitus is decreased by removal of
1. anterior pituitary
2. posterior pituitary

please can anyone answer this with explanation

According to me the answer is anterior pituitary because removal of anterior pituiary hormones potentiates the action of insulin.
