My husband had an interview at Marshall Uni for residency. It's a really well equipped facility, but all the fellows there told him if you specialize here you do not have enough experience to work outside that area. They do not get many complicated cases, and they are not strong enough to treat those cases even if those patients came to the hospital. So if love it and like the area plan on staying. Other than that its a small city but people are super friendly! Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for the tips. I ll keep that in mind. :):)

Got an extremely curt love letter from Brigham and Women's today.

What is the current picture for non-US-IMGs applying to Cardiology fellowships? Is it more or less obtainable nowadays coming from a mid-tier program and applying broadly? Is it really getting less competitive?

It remains one of the most competitive fellowships. Average competition is around 100-200 applications per spot.

According to the stats report there is approximately 1.5 applicants for 1 cardiology spot. Lots of IMG in the field, but definitely depends on where you go.

Snail rejection from U of Kentucky.
Lame and waste of money.

Interview from SUNY Upstate for
10/21,22,25,28,29,31
11/1,4,5

Look like Suny Upstate will interview the entire 2014 applicants but the question who will match with them?

I didn't get one. Can I have your mom's spot. Funny thing is I wanted an interview from them. When did they send out invites?

Hey Keg, thx a lot for keeping the stats, man. We really appreciate it. :)

Looks like interviews have died out.
Any chances something may still come this way before the end of this month?

Can anyone comment on University of Vermont cardiology program? I interviewed there and it seemed like a great program.

Hi All,
Can anyone advise me as to the last date to certify the rank list. Is it by the noon of Nov 13th. Thank you and wish you all the best. Me.

Love Letter from Baylor University Medical Center yesterday. Better late than never.... ;)

My 6th sense is telling Stanford is gonna wait until match day before sending out their rejections

I'm still waiting for my two rejections from Stanford. I still think I have a chance.
Assuming you are being sarcastic (the implication is that Stanford does not send rejections at all, and you moved on a long time ago, and are still waiting ;-) ), it would be useful to document the expected behavior of programs (based on past behavior). As in, the list of programs that you should not hold your breadth while you wait... versus programs that are more professional and let you know where you stand, one way or the other. How about publicly ranking PCs, and PDs (on a five point scale perhaps), as well as the timeliness of communications, etc.. Might help improve the process if this information is public.

Last year, by this time, this thread had gone 16 pages long. This year, only 11 pages.

Lesser interviews for AMGs? Interviews shared amongst a more restricted cohort of applicants this year? Quieter crowd? Or do I really have nothing better to do than to read into meaningless things!

Hi guys, has anyone been receiving post interview feedbacks from programs regarding the ranking process? I hear programs that rank you might often send an email after they complete their ranking.

Hi guys, has anyone been receiving post interview feedbacks from programs regarding the ranking process? I hear programs that rank you might often send an email after they complete their ranking.

A phone call and two emails, all in the last week.

3 emails...no phone calls. All in last 2 weeks.

Are these unsolicited emails and phone calls? or in response to the applicants emails?

Are these unsolicited emails and phone calls? or in response to the applicants emails?

One unsolicited phone call and email, one as a response to an email from several weeks ago.

Awesome! Those are good signs. I assume most programs would do that only for applicants they are ranking to match!

Awesome! Those are good signs. I assume most programs would do that only for applicants they are ranking to match!

They are indicators that they liked you, but by no means do they always signify that you are ranked to match there. There are people who get these emails but don't end up matching at those programs despite ranking them highly.

Hey guys, anybody getting any sort of email about not being matched and go forth with SOAP kind of thing ?

That's what I figured from what ave browsed so far still there were some comments regarding that prior to match email on other thread. Anyway, it's only 2 more days so, Good Luck to everybody!!!
And thanks a million for reply ;);)

I think that pretty much settles the myth! SOAP is for residency only and not for fellowships.
