wow that's an awesome job getting so many interviews without a transcript, you must have kicked butt on your steps and LORs. Yeah I am kind of pissed ERAS hasn't uploaded my last LOR yet, cause it's the only one from anesthesia, what's gonna suck even more is having to email or call all the places to update them about the letter. But I guess an anesthesia letter isn't that important since i've gotten a few interviews without it.

From what I hear the first weeks of October are huge and everyone I spoke with said that they had 90% of their invites before the MSPE came out. But i'll be very happy if i get 10 more interviews. :xf: :luck:

I am wondering if anyone knows that when a program starts to send out interview offers (Ie Vandy today) do they go out in big batch or do they trickle out "single file" as an administrative assistant sends out offers? I am very excited for all of you who are getting offers but getting nervous to see a school that was on my application list show up and get no love. Any insight would be much appreciated.

o.k. scores, probably some good LORs (waived right to see em), PS, CV.

Dude, I hear you on some of these delays. I didn't get my 3rd year elective grade until after submitting ERAS with my CV...... Turns out I honored (in anesthesiology) the elective, but it was done as a kind of "research elective" to bypass a policy that made the elective only formally open to 4th years....... So, I really wasn't expecting a formal grade, and thus didn't really follow up.

Then, the damn thing shows up. I guess it'll still be on my transcripts, but would have been nice to have on my CV...... oh well.....

you put the rotations you honored on your CAF? Darn, i was told not to do that cause they would see it on my transcript.. i honored my entire 3rd year, and as for electives for us they're pass fail so even though i am sure i got a good LOR (waived my right to see it as well) from the anesthesia rotation, all i'll have on my transcript is a pass. Oh well all I really need is someone to rank me high, i don't really care where i go as long as I can do my dream job.

I am not sure how many invites programs send out at the same time but I would imagine it's more than one at a time, it would suck for the program coordinator to have to send out an email every few hours once a new candidate has been selected. There are plenty of programs on that list that i applied to and haven't been invited to yet, sure it's worrisome but programs have multiple rounds of invites, so as long as you're not getting a rejection from them there's still hope.

The whole process is stressful for my personality. I do not like the seeming randomness of it. Obviously, when you think about it, the whole thing works out; nevertheless, knowing if/where I matched is close to 6 months away. Time will fly, though. I will rank every interview, so I need 8 more to feel relatively comfortable based upon last year's outcomes report for contiguous ranks. That still doesn't eliminate the possibility of falling on the "wrong" side of that statistic. Best of luck to all.

I wouldn't get psyched out. Lots of "self-selection" going on in the invites thread.

I remember getting freaked out on the Step II forum, because the only people posting scores were those with super high ones (and ofcourse it always seems like so many people....). Again, self-selection bias.......

We all need to chill a bit. It'll work out.

Just rough numbers (looking at the chart), it looks like US grads had 97% match rate at 10 contiguous ranks... so, I would really love it if I could get 10 interviews :)

At 15 it is asymptotic close to 100%, but I do not expect 15 interviews unless October is insane (nor do I know if I could physically make 15 interviews).
