Interview Mercy St Vincent Medical Center (Toledo) 8/16.

IMG-US citizen

Is it just me or is this interview season going really really slow? Especially for IMGs. I currently have 3, was expecting to have had more by now..... and its mid-august?

Any explanations for this? Are programs just reviewing applications a little later this year or is it really the fact that it got THAT much more competitive in 1 year? Doesn't make sense that it would be such a drastic swing in 1 year so I'm hoping it's just because programs are reviewing apps later? Thoughts? :(
Amgs i know have none or less my friend. I thinks its still early.

I received this message from one of the programs today. Have any of you guys received a similar message?

'I wanted to give you an update on where we are in our interview process - at the current time we are reviewing applications and will be contacting those applicants that we would like to come in for an interview. We will also be sending out a notice to those of you that do not get chosen for an interview.

We ask that if you have any updates to your application such as abstracts, etc that have been accepted since you submitted your application that you please do not send us an email instead please bring any updates that you have with you to your interview if you are invited'

Thanks.

If couples matching, how much does that change the equation? A&I specifically.
u can never get a good answer to that. Both are competitive fellowships n strongly rely on contacts and CV. Unless u both are dead set on not matching in different cities, I wouldnt couples match(depending on your CV).

Has anyone heard back from programs in Philadelphia? (ie. Penn, Temple, Drexel, Cooper, Lankenau, and Einstein)
Jefferson is the only program I personally have heard back from.
Jefferson and Lehigh Valley (8/17). No others yet.

Is it weird that my alma mater didn't give me an interview despite being one of the top students of the class? You would think they'd give at least a courtesy interview.

Wtf?

Time to give up hope and wait for just rejection letters?

I think we've got the next 2 to 3 weeks at most to get first round offers. Maybe the random pick ups from cancellations thereafter, but not enough to make a big difference.
