I am gathering my stuff and notice that I don't have this. Does it matter? I do have the scheduling permit.

I thought we were supposed to be there at 8am for the morning test session, but I don't see that anywhere. This is right, isn't it?

Which test? Step 2 CS or Step 2 CK?
For Clinical Skills, you can print your scheduling permit from the NBME website and it provides the center with your validity period.
For Clinical Knowledge, you must bring your Orange scheduling permit to the exam in order to be allowed to sit for it.
Regarding timing, you should show up by 8am (but up to 8:20-8:30 is fine) for CS, whereas the CK appointment is scheduled for 9am. There may or may not be any benefit in showing up before 9am for CK, as it depends on when the center employees arrive and let you get started. However, if you arrive for CK past 9:30am, you may lose your eligibility for that day!
