An applicant from a pretty highly reputed IM program (ie Doximity 'rank' ~10) with good board scores but BELOW average otherwise (minimal research like a 1-2 abstracts, 2 case reports, bland LoRs)...how difficult is matching into an average university cardiology fellowship if applying broadly. I saw that it is about 71% match rate to cards in 2019 I believe, but are the unmatched mostly not MD AMGs?
