Trump references will be higher with him out of office than in office.

After that I think the position should be abolished. We have way too many people in the exec branch and the rest of govt.

OMG.

Why do all the liberals have so little real respect for real physicians? Clinton appointed a vet, Biden an NP, Clinton expanded NP scope of practice. The liberal media flagship (New York Times), devotes an incredible amount of energy to bashing physicians every chance they get.

This is one of the reasons I would never vote for a liberal for national government office, though I often do for local offices. I’m an Independent, but as a physician, I cant vote for a Democrat for a national office given their attitudes toward physicians.

Feel free to report me for making a hilarious reference to the Great American Novel.

It’s certainly more highbrow than you posting a meme below about a trans woman being a white guy.
I’m sorry(not sorry) you thought the meme was about you. Your post also shows you obviously did not read the forum rule I posted for you. Here’s the pertinent part....

“If you don't like someone or their posts, simply ignore. You can scroll on or duke it out somewhere outside of SDN. We have some strong personalities in this community (which I actually enjoy) but drawing negative attention to this forum by reporting each other and leaving snarky comments on each other's profiles - will not accomplish anything. Please for my and the other moderators' sake, stop reporting and commenting.”

Doctors taking potshots at the trans community - including someone who is a fellow physician - is probably a worse look for the SDN pain forum than poking fun at your behavior.

I love OP just getting dragged on this one. Surgeon General is a largely administrative post. While it has typically been held by physicians, a veterinarian and a nurse have also held the post in recent years. This isn't unusual.

Lol....What did I say? You guys are cool with firing/asking for his resignation of the African American physician (which is racist) in favor of a white nurse who is transgender....I’m not cool with that.

Maybe you can lobby to amend the rules for us. I don’t make them. I only follow them. And a transgender nurse is not a physician.

I agree a transgender nurse is not a physician.

The woman pictured here is Rachel Levine, MD. She was recently appointed US Assistant Secretary of Health. She also went to Harvard if that is fancy enough for you.

I have removed the meme. It was a pot shot at the president, not at her/him.

Ok. I apologize for calling you Moby Dick. But you have to admit that’s better than being Ahab.

Freedom of thought and speech is the best look for america. For some reason, democrats don’t seem to believe in either.

If someone doesn’t fall in line like a communist robot behind the entire democratic party line, then anyone with dissenting free Speech or thought is sent to the physical/social/electronic Gulag.

Funny how socialism in the US creeps closer to communism with each passing year....

I believe in freedom of speech and the reality of consequences. And if you desire to participate in a community, you do adhere to basic standards in order to continue your membership. I believe the last forum member banned was a Democrat anyway.

Your first sentence is self-contradictory. Free speech is allowed......"as long as you believe the exact same as me"
That is exactly what democrats are doing in the news, print/electronic media, and on college campuses, etc.

But I wasn't speaking solely about this forum as much as I was America today, where people particularly males, or whites, especially if both, are scared to actually express their opinions because they are no longer allowed this freedom in America.
I did not vote for Trump in 2016, but part of the reason he won that year, and why the democrats won far fewer seats in Congress than polling suggested both in 2016 and in 2020, is because free speech is no longer part of America and a huge part of America doesn't feel safe expressing their feelings in public just like the friends I made in Moscow in the early 90s, didn't feel comfortable expressing their feelings under Communism,

It is annoying to see that come to a DISCUSSION forum, where Doctodd felt he needed to remove his meme, likely because he worried it could get him banned by the PC police.

You have the freedom to hold a pile of crap in your hand and throw it up in the air. I am merely pointing out that when it lands it gets on your face, and people may not want to be around you because that’s weird and gross.

Right........because if someone doesn't believe in your clearly liberal point of view, then they believe in crap or are crap themselves. You could have easily have just said that such a person would be a "deplorable"

Thank you for proving my point time and time again in this thread about the controlling and condescending attitude of liberals toward anyone who doesn't believe exactly as they do, because in their deepest part of their hearts, liberals do not believe that everyone has the freedom and right to believe as they choose, just as the communists did not.

It disturbs me that I have to know this person's genitalia and they feel about it.

Can you provide a specific example of this - white males afraid to express their opinion because they don't have freedom/don't feel safe or because they are white males?

It's amazing the Left fought for decades to ensure FoS wasn't curtailed. Decades and decades of going to battle over freedom of individuality.

What happened?

OMG. I'm not trying to insult you with my next sentence......., but if you truly have to ask that question, you are either clearly not a white male, have been living under a rock for the past 20 years, or have just taken the blue pill and have never lived outside of a deep blue city or had a real friendship/relationship with someone who didn't have your cultural/political upbringing.

I previously referenced both white and male, as white women also have reverse discrimination/cancel culture directed to them, though to a lesser degree.

I'm going out for a hike so I don't have time for a comprehensive list of examples though there are thousands of them, but here are just a few examples of how white people are no longer allowed free speech in the western world. (BTW, if you don't believe the liberal media is deliberating maninpulating you into not believing that anti white and anti male bias exists, take a look at this final example. I did a web search on google which is know for being run by extreme left wing liberals and found nothing on the first two pages, I then repeated the search with duckduckgo and found all of these in the first 5 responses)

The left wasn't fighting for freedom of speech for all, they were just fighting for their own personal politics. You watch or read stories about white suffragettes, civil rights lawyers in the 60s and it is all very noble (and it really was back then), until you now see their liberal children and grandchildren in the modern day denying free speech to the children of the same people who had originally suppressed their ancestors speech back in the day.

Free speech should be for everyone even for those with whom you disagree. As Voltaire once said-

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

My point exactly.

Gotta love that a bunch of white middle aged pain docs making $300k+/year believe they are victims. If your life isn't easy mode, I don't know what is.

Your idea of oppression is that now when you say openly disparaging remarks about minority groups, you face social consequences for it instead of getting high fives. Cry me a river.

There really should be an update to Godwin’s Law about how long it takes for someone on a forum to mention communism 🍿

first of all, doctodd has the right to be a bigot, racist, sexist etc. he has the right to post obnoxious trolling crap so he acn get a rise out of it. i strongly encourage those of us on this forum who dont want to hear his nonsense to hover over his name, and click the "ignore" button.

second of all, freedom of speech has always had limits. there is no more glaring example then what happened at the capitol 3 weeks ago. when speech is factually untrue and results in violence, it can and should be curtailed.

third of all, hyperalgesia, im am sure that you will somehow go on with your life and not have nightmares about dr. levine's genitalia.

fourth of all, white guys complaining about reverse racism or cancel culture is laughable. take a step back and understand how easy you have had it.

Doctodd has every right to be a bigot but others have the right to call him out for it.
I'm not agreeing with everything Doctodd said. I agree that others have a right to criticize him for it. I"m saying they shouldn't have the right to ban him or cancel him because they disagree with him. Everyone has a right to be heard.

Ah yes more outrage from those feeling the heavy weight of pseudooppression.
Spoken like a liberal socialist, or maybe you just benefited from that bias in your medical career. I certainly would have rather been a black women trying to get into college/medicine instead of a white male.

As there should be for a liberal to compare a conservative to Nazi.... (or in the case of the private forum... to pol pot)

The thing that 99% of ultra liberals fail to understand is that not all white people have an advantage in their life from being white!
If you were born to wealthy and or connected white parents, then sure. And many of the surburan white families in big blue cities have advantages compared to poor minority families in those same cities. But news flash, THE MAJORITY OF WHITE FAMILIES ARE NOT RICH OR CONNECTED., but liberals have been completed brainwashed into thinking 100% of them are.
Liberals are more brainwashed than cult members. But I understand this to some degree as all the national medial and most large universities are centers of group-think, not independent thought.

I will bring up a real life example and you can tell us all if this is fair. I was the only white male in my Harvard residency class. The rest were women, minorities, or both. Half of the residents were black, while only 13% of the US is black. All of the minority and female residents came from families with parents with bachelors and/or masters degrees and were encouraged and shown the way to achieve in life, while my parents did not.
I grew up in a tiny town in the rocky mountains, to extremely poor parents who didn't go to college, I went to a terrible public school, and I had no psychological or financial help whatsoever on my journey to become a physician

Who do you think was oppressed in this situation? Me, or the minorities/women?

Sounds like we had pretty similar upbringings and backgrounds, but you came out of it a bitter crybaby.
