Hi everyone,

Just wanted to wish everyone luck that will be getting results tomorrow on Step 2 CS. I know this exam is rough with the new passing margins. Hopefully we all pass. Gather here and share your results once you get them!

This is ridiculous, I can't believe nobody is getting their scores today.

At this point, I wish they would just delay until after September 15th. Watch all the scores come back on Sept. 11 and people find out they failed right before they hit submit on eras. brutal.

What concerns me most is that they have not bothered to acknowledge or provide an explanation for the delay in releasing the results.

2013 Reporting Schedule - Step 2 CS

For each "Testing Period" in the above schedule, Step 2 CS scores are released every Wednesday over a corresponding four-to five-week "Reporting Period." It is expected that results for the vast majority of examinees who take the exam during the testing period will be reported on the first Wednesday of the Reporting Period. Results for 98%-99% of examinees who take the exam during the testing period are reported by the third Wednesday in a Reporting Period. For a small percentage of examinees (1%-2%), scoring and quality assurance may be not completed in time for these examinees to be reported by the first three reporting dates; these will typically be examinees who took the exam in the latter part of the testing period.

I wonder what they are telling people who call about the delay? I'm sure they have gotten hundreds of phone calls by now. The rumor about delays because of a change is passing criteria is pretty concerning...

They've finally acknowledged the score delay. No reasons why, of course. It baffles me that they make this announcement the day after the scores were supposed to be released...

Unbelievable. They could have announced this before yesterday. Also note how they take no ownership of the screw up nor do they even use the word 'delay.' They try to spin it off like it's a normal occurrence and offer no explanation. When you use language like "vast majority" you cause people to plan around it. There's no time at this point to account for a failure with eras applications.

CS is a big fraud.

There is no accountability for the nbme. They can charge as much as they want and deliver the results with no penalty.

Step 1 and 2-CK are all about 'evidence-based medicine' but when evidence is published in the NEJM that CS is a useless assessment they ignore it so they can keep their jobs and keep making money.

Interestingly, they have the same idea, but....:bang::wtf:........
Results for these examinees will be reported each week throughout the reporting period, and should be reported no later than the last day of the score reporting period. This schedule allows USMLE staff to enhance the quality assurance and data collection/scoring procedures performed prior to score reporting. Additionally, it provides examinees, as well as others who rely on Step 2 CS results, with guidelines regarding when a result will be reported for a given exam date. These guidelines allow examinees to plan their exam registration and scheduling in order to have their results in time to meet specific deadlines, such as those related to graduation or participation in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), or "the Match."

It's the most useless exam. Seriously. If you wanna grade me on CIS, ICE, and SEP...then do it during my clinical rotations. When I'm with real patients. Make all the attendings of core rotations grade me based on just that, and use that as part of my CS grade or something. I'll shine bright- like a damn diamond. Don't put me in with a fake patient, with fake sx's, give me 15 mins, with a camera watching me...and tell me to go HAM. They can seriously go screw themselves.

You mean like the way they say that they encourage disabled applicants to apply for accommodation under the ADA, then put forth the most ridiculously complex and nebulous application process with myriad hoops to jump through and documents to submit that can take many months to even get a decision and then mark/tarnish all of your score reports with a special note if you got an accommodation, which effectively discourages anybody from applying? Well, I mean as long as they claim it, it's true I guess!

But don't worry, we'll have our results in time... 4 days before Eras is due! Ok great I failed for some unknown subjective reason. 4 days to either request a score recheck or replan my entire career, get letters of recommendation for a less competitive specialty, and apply. You would have thought that taking this at the BEGINNING OF JUNE would have been enough time to get it out of the way for ERAS. WRONG.

I want to know why they have these weird Wednesday release schedules and cycles. How about just releasing the scores when they're ready? You screwed up yesterday so just send them today. Stupid.

The wait and anxiety will be easy nullified with a passing result...

8 AM Chicago time can't come fast enough. Apparently that's when Chicago test results are released.
