I fixed it! We all posted at onceok, seriously today is CRAZY.
also, @carpediem22, I think you may have copied an earlier list--it looks like some of the Emory people are missing.

Too many invites for SDN to handle lolI fixed it! We all posted at once
Tri I is 50% (right from director's mouth)Do we know roughly how many most MSTP schools accept out of the interviewed? Is MSTP the same as MD (where roughly 2-3x the class size is accepted)?
I've heard it's SUPER variable, especially because these programs are so small. There's not a whole lot of stats out there, but for example, it looks like Johns Hopkins made ~26 offers to fill a ~12 person class?
Congrats @xc_stallion92! And everyone else who has had such a great day for IIs!
Question for you MD/PhD folks that I am posting here because no one seems to look at the rest of the message board. So I'm sorry if this is slightly out of place.
I am applying for MD/PhD with the PhD in neuroscience and just found out my poster was accepted for the Society for Neuroscience conference (pretty much the biggest Neuro conference in the world with over 30,000 attendees). Is this worth updating schools about or should updates be saved for actual publications? This is not my first poster, but is certainly the biggest conference by far that I have a poster at.
Sorry again for the slightly out of place question but you guys probably have the best idea of what's appropriate for MD/PhD people to do!

Congrats! I'll see you there! I have a couple updates as well and I was wondering the same thing. Also, how do we format updates? Should we actually format them like letters with headings and such and send them as PDFs to every school who doesn't have an easier way to update the portal?
[/QUOTE]Whoops. That was an email for UIC College of Medicine - FYI, the medical school and the MSTP review applications separately and at the same time. So you can hear back from the medical people before the MSTP people, and vice versa. Hopefully I hear back from the MSTP people as well!
Darn! I fell for the same email :/ are you going to schedule an interview or wait so see what MSTP says? @MSTPtastic
Got that email yesterday! You can go ahead and call the number in the email but what they'll tell you is to call the MSTP office and let them know you've been given an interview by the MD program. That's how I found out I was being reviewed sept 8th!
Thank you @MSTPtastic and @ADW1994 for your thoughts!
If there isn't an update section in the portal I am checking the program's website to ensure they don't say they don't want updates, and then I think I will send a PDF attachment to the admissions email account.

If it were any other school, I'd do the MD interview, but UIC charges $75k/yr to out-of-state students. Since I already have two MSTP interviews, I think I'm going to say no. If the school were cheaper, or I didn't already have MD/PhD interviews, I would say yes.
Have you since gotten an II from any of the schools you sent the update to? I don't want to bug anyone, but I also don't want them to skip over me, because my summer really added a few significant items. Thanks! If a school didn't take updates on their website, I called offices to be sure they took pre-interview updates (hint: Many MD programs say no, but almost all MSTP offices say yes - the only no I saw was Stanford). Then I wrote it up in a one-page business letter format (with recipient address and everything), pdf'd it, and sent it directly to MSTP offices.
Good luck!
Exactly. The whole "respond in three weeks or else" thing doesn't apply to you if you're waiting on hearing back from MSTP.Thank you!!! I shall do that! So did they not want you to do the MD only interview until after they review ur app?

Thanks!I sent it out to all my schools on Monday, and I got the II from Stony Brook today (and UIC COM). I had a new job, plus a few other things I tossed in there. A few schools seemed a little crotchety about the request, but the vast majority were exceedingly friendly. Just be polite, and keep the call short and to-the-point.
Hahaha woaahhh there I don't deserve a shout out!! Congrats to everyone today. @pineapplecake and @ivynuke I can't wait to see more II posts from you soon!WOOOWWOWOW congratulations to everyone who got II today!!! And @fiesta wooww you rockstar! Congrats on Columbia!
Also, based on Pitt's website, 70 are interviewed for a class of 15 so I would expect ~40-50% are accepted after the interview??
Congrats!!!!! Well deserved IIsUMass and Stony Brook. First IIs! I am so relived! I was so worried that I would not get one! You guys are so supportive to everyone, and I am so happy to be apart of this!
