Who were the top ranked vet school's in the US?

It probably depends on where you look, but US News ranked Cornell and CSU as the top two: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/hea/brief/vet_brief.php.

It's funny, despite the veterinary medicine curriculum being a veritable mirror of the "medicine" curriculum, veterinary schools are placed in the "health graduate" program section. Seems like they should be putting human medicine in that group too instead of making MDs seem so much more important than DVMs or other health professionals. I suppose it is because so many people want to be MDs, though, so they take up a huge section of the magazine.

UC Davis is considered the "best" veterinary school. The reason it is not ranked in many publications is because of it's accredidation status with the AVMA. UC Davis' veterinary school has been on limited accredidation for several years because of deficiencies in "Finances" (CA's University system has had many budget cuts) and "Facilities" (older buildings).

They will soon be fully accredidated though, as there are some very, very nice brand-spanking-new buildings and facilities. Also, their limited accredidation has had NO adverse effects on their graduating students' abilities to take (and pass) national and state licensing exams.
