Hey guys, MS4 who is planning on applying this upcoming cycle. Just had a couple of quick questions, and appreciate any sort of feedback
1) I'm aware that Step 2 ck plays a much smaller role for applications vs Step 1, but do PDs take it more into consideration if there's a noticeable improvements from a below average/average Step 1? My stats - Step 1 : 245 / Step 2 CK : 265
2) Unfortunately, my home institution does not have an ENT department and isn't a research heavy school. To make up for it - I signed up for research elective at another institution, and have gotten involved in several case reports/small projects. It's been a great, productive experience. However, I am realistic and know I will not have any publications by Sep 15th (besides possible case report). Will programs screen out based on publication numbers? or do they look to see if you have submitted projects in the mix?
