I'm going to be starting med school in the fall but I recently decided I also want to do an MBA because I like business and want to understand it better. I think having an MD and MBA will give me a better perspective on health care management and finance.
The problem is my school doesn't offer an MD/MBA combined degree program so I'm gonna have to complete them separately. I'd like to do the MBA before starting residency. I was thinking of starting a two year full time MBA program at the start of M4. I would take an extra year to finish the MBA, so essentially it would be like a combined 5 year MD/MBA, I would just be doing them at separate schools.
Is this plan even feasible? I hear that M4 can be somewhat less intense than the first three years so I figured it might be possible to start a full time MBA during fourth year.
