South African IMG, what are my options?

Good day, I am South African citizen currently studying medicine in the Philippines.

Does anyone have advice on the process to work ra rice medicine in South Africa after graduation? And the chances of getting into a residency program there?

You have to go through the ECFMG process and you have to take and pass the USMLE exams so that you can apply to residencies.

Why would s/he have to take the USMLE to practice in South Africa?
