Maybe there has been another similar thread, but I didn't see any in the pharmacy section. Anyone have any other sources of income they do on the side? I finally got a full time staff position after years of floating. Asking partially out of curiosity as to what pharmacists are doing, and also looking for some ideas now that I have a regular schedule to work with.

I know pharmacists that do real estate and uber on the side but if you need a side hustle. Look for a new career.

Side hustles I would be up for trying in my spare time/retirement...auto detailing, personal training, tutoring (pharmacy)....things I would enjoy doing and already have the proper resources for doing. More so just some extreme hobbies & gigs which can be done locally given one's environment.

Solo business with no staffing/corporate BS to worry about; I wouldn't want to expand anything to the point of needing to have additional help...would be cool just for having entrepreneur experience & skills in book keeping/finance management of costs of doing business.

Yup I know one real estate agent and have heard of one Uber driver. I used to do a little freelance writing on the side. Owning real estate is also an option.

I wish I had the energy after work to do a side hustle. I've finally come to realize I'm going to have to quit and take a year off and retool to move on from pharmacy.

I run an OnlyFans.
Man, your comment just really cheered me up/made my day brighter. Now, I'm no hip young dude anymore, but to my understanding, OnlyFans is essentially a very mild form non-contact prostitution; it's crazy how some of these women (often young & naïve) act like it's a legitimate business and making them an entrepreneur

I could never advocate for anyone to sell his/her integrity/reputation

You'd be surprised what people will pay for a middle aged man!

I considered opening up my own pharmacy school a few years ago, but seems like that ship has sailed ;)

-Buy some VTI every paycheck. It's up 19% YTD.

-Next time crypto crashes, buy some BTC, ETH and ADA. They are already up 50-260% since July.

-Buy an investment property for passive income.

-Consider an ice cream truck. Everybody loves ice cream.

Can you really put a price on your integrity and reputation? Again, you might as well put stripper/prostitute on your resume permanently (seems like it's something too good to be true/short term gains with unknown long term value)

Yup, I've made a lot from VTI this year. I've been afraid to jump into crypto but i think i will buy some if there is another dip.

I would not buy crypto at these levels. June and July were the time to enter. My ETH that I bought in May went from -60% to +27% in 6 weeks! I'm saving up for the next bear market before I buy more.

If you ever get a chance to get BTC below 28k, ETH below 1800, ADA around $1 I'd say those are pretty safe entries.

I used to make tables and stuff out of old pallets - I sold a few dozen - that being said, i calculated what I made per hour and it was like $15, but I enjoyed it and bought more tools.

You could probably make a lot more now with the lumber shortage. People charge crazy prices and customers pay.

two problems, I am wondering if you can get the old shipping pallets for free anymore? and I don't have my truck to pick up and haul them, I would have to tear them apart ad the pick up site which is just a PITA

In my area at least, yeah you can still find free pallets around

Army Reserve…I wouldn’t consider it a side hustle, but it’s an extra paycheck.

Is there a demand on only fans for a early 40s, BMI ~30, balding, male?

I can touch my toes to my nose…

If there is….. I mean…. I would do it….

Otherwise I did come up with a side hustle that I love doing. My son and I manually clean garbage cans on a quarterly basis for people in our city. Essentially, I rigged my pickup to latch on a huge water tank, I fill it up, and attach my power washer to it. We stick the empty can upside down to hose it out bigtime - then I add a few cups of liquid soap - brush it out - rinse again - and boom its done (takes about 15 minutes for 2 cans tops, 5 extra per can). We currently have 47 quarterly accounts and collect 20 dollars per completion for 2 cans. All of the homes requesting the service are in my own neighborhood and are within 5 minute drive. Also - we instruct them to leave the cans they want clean at the edge of their driveway for efficient work.

There is a massive demand for this and everyone that is approached I an established neighborhood wants this service.

Other than this I do a lot of swing trading and investing

She is providing a service for a perfectly legal business. Although I may agree with you that pornography is disgusting - I protest by not purchasing the service - not by applying personal judgement.

No one should loose their job for having another legal job on the side.

I would definitely pay for the trash barrel cleaning. My trash barrels stink and I don't have a power washer. I saw a video where a kid cleaned trash barrels by hand, he crawled in there to reach the bottoms. I think someone donated a power washer to him, pretty cool.

My friend put his old sweaty stocks for sale on EBay or similar as a joke and some dude bought them, and kept asking him detailed questions. He got creeped out LoL.

I thought of doing this in my old town as well!
Not bad but not scalable I why I was hesitant. Unless you are in a cheap area such as myself (homes still list under 100K here), I could see you bumping rates to 27-30 per two cans, easy.

Just charge 9.99/month subscription - that's what I do!
Details? What type of content are you running? serious

What do you do with the gunk that's stuck at the bottom of the trash cans? Mine has some dirty towels that are plastered on, that I don't care to reach inside for. Do you have your own separate trash can or spray it onto the street?

Yea we learned that on the first can we cleaned - before that I just didn’t think of it.

My father worked in food service for some time. I got some of those black rubber standing mats (the Mesh kind with large holes). I just throw that down and run the water into it. It catches about 80% of gunk. We just wear gloves when we do it so that it’s not too nasty and scoop it up when done. It’s usually not that bad.

9 times out of 10 it’s the Burger King coupon page stuck on the side of the can by some ketchup/Mayo cement slime. It still blows my mind that you have to buy a large drink with every good coupon. Otherwise I have never seen anything that would make you run.

Some day people will stop using paper coupons and use the app.

We all know this only happened because he worked for a chain (he made his work experiences part of his act); there's just so many company policy rules where anyone can simply interpret anything you say or do anytime if someone wants to get rid of an employee regardless of how proficient said employee is in actual job performance

I'd be totally cool with writing a book when I retire about all the odd ball bizarre interactions I've experienced working overnights...reminds me of that Seinfeld episode of Kramer writing a book

I count by 5's.

So - for all the ladies out there that have always fantasized about their pharmacist counting pills naked while they wait in line?

I’ll bet you get a lot of the cougar types.

Funny you say this…I’ve been buying VTI and/or IVW every paycheck. 🙂

But really, side hustles can lead to tremendous tax benefits if you do it correctly. I have a couple things that I do that count as self employment. Whatever you do, make sure it is self employment / private contractor / non-W2 income and something that doesn’t appear to be a hobby.

Is IVW the same as MGK? MGK expense ratio is much smaller.
