Heyyy I finally made it through the screen at UCSD. Time to write an autobiography, I suppose.

Awesome! I made it through today as well! I think I'll shoot for the end of the weekend for my autobiography...that's going to be a fun one!

Also, if it helps you, my scores and GPA are really average so they must have been looking at something else when they screened me through. I like schools like that for many reasons :D

I'm actually looking forward to writing it, too, but I won't be able to get to it this weekend. I'll be driving back to Ohio for a friend's wedding... same thing for the weekend after that, actually. Then, the third weekend I just drive back to Ohio to move back in for the fall semester. Mmm... three consecutive weekends.

Isn't it interesting how schools plead with us to be so patient while they review hundreds of applications and yet, when we have other pressing life demands and can't get our apps in within a few days, there's no sympathy. It's just like, "ha ha, sucks for you, your app is now sitting at the bottom of the pile." I realize it's how the game is played, but sheesh, what a double standard :)

So, did you tell all the peeps why we've been away? ;)

I think they figured it out...you saw the porno music.
Dan and I are financing our md apps by doing porn. Doctor party, indeed!! D, check your PM.

lol, correction...

I just got a snailmail invite from oregon to fill out a secondary. Does that school screen, or just not like using the internet (considering it is infinitely faster than the U.S postal service)?

Does anyone happen to know if the schools that screen before giving out their secondaries screen applicants who are taking the MCAT in August? Or do they just give out secondaries to everyone taking the MCAT in August? Thanks! :)

you take things far to literally then.

i'm really bored at work....and yes I am working in the ER.....and I have to stay until 2am :( boo I say.

I would also like Drexel to be in my inbox Jackie...followed by UCSF, Oregon and Emory. Oh well to that too.

I received the Indiana University secondary today, in state.

You wouldn't yell at Danzig if you knew Danzig! Just watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force's episode with The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future to discover what I mean. Besides, I don't take things too literally!

And goodness gracious, I will certainly look hot. Have you seen the forecasts lately??

Just FYI-- Drexel's secondary invite will be coming via snail mail, not email.

Is that what they did last year?

That's good to know, at least I know where to look for it. Sucks though, cause I'll have to wait the extra time it takes for my parents to mail it to me.

When you guys say non-screened, do you guys mean that the 2nd-ary is received before you are verified? If not, could you guys post some of the schools you've received secondaries from before getting verified? So far I've gotten 4 and I am still waiting to be verified.

if they dont screen then they dont care about your mcat scores until you are complete

MSAR says Drexel is not screened.

On another note, I got an email from Vandy today (in response to something I sent them)...
"You have gone through the screening process and will be getting a letter from us any day now!"

Never in my life have I put so much thought into what an exclamation point means.

Phew! I was worried it was just me! Like I was dislexic and repeatedly typing the numbers in wrong or something. I can't log in either. Maybe they sent out the link but haven't activated the app yet. If it isn't working by Monday someone should call maybe.

you'd think they would've at least fixed these problems before sending the application to everyone...oh well not that i'm in a rush to fill it out seeing as I have 3 applications to work on this weekend

I just called Albany and a lady answered. She said they were having "computer problems" and to try later this afternoon.

are you guys sending secondaries to those that haven't sent a formal invite but have it on their site (and aren't screeners)..
(like tulane)

leahmaria said:

I guess "secondary" is kind of a misnomer. There aren't any essays. There are some forms to fill out and a check to mail (of course! It's not too bad though, $50). The letter that came with it said that you can expect an interview invite ~4-6 weeks after receiving the packet. :) All of their interviews are on Wednesdays, apparently, and they will send you a date and time. You don't get to schedule it. :(

Unless they explicitely state that you can submit before hearing from them, I would not. It is bad form at best. Exceptions would be schools llike Hopkins, that allow submission before an invite. Just my take anyway.
