Hello,

A lot of the PT schools speak about pre-req gpa and I'm curious how that is weighed compared to sgpa. Unfortunately, I struggled in ochem and did pretty poorly in those classes. My science gpa is looking at a 2.7 and overall is a 3.1-3.2. My pre-req gpa (basically not including ochem at all but including psychology/stats etc) would be a 3.5 I believe.

I know many PT schools do not require ochem and I was wondering if they would still factor that into my pre-req gpa. I understand a 2.7 sgpa isn't pretty anyways but was curious.

Thank you!

You’ll just have to check that you aren’t applying to any schools that require a 3.0 science GPA. Most programs only seem to care about the overall prereq GPA, but a few do specify a 3.0 in science.
