ans shd be gram negative anaerobic rods and fusobacteria
i think ans is right with gram positive n filamentous bact.
because gram negative colonies later to appear .. in plaque .. so if plaque is in later stages then gingivitis will also be there for sure.

micro decks says that..
in supraging plaque..
gram +ve anerobic facultative cocci. streptococcus sanguis, actinomycosis naeslundii and viscosus predominate.
as this plaq ages , vibrio, spirochetes and gram -ve bacteria predominate.

subging plaque..attached or loose, apithelium associated.
as pocket forms gram -ve anerobic rods

microflora of healthy gingival sulcus is?

gram -ve anerobic rods and fusobacteria
gram +ve cocci and filamentous bacteria
gram+ve facultative rods and spirochetes

so acc to the q,it's asking about the subgingival area right? and the decks says gram negative rods predominate there....its confusing still..anybody pls clear it out

thanks docaspra for the answer

which of the following describes the effect of a drug that inhibit renal carbonic anhydrase?
a it decreases urea clearance
b it increases tm for glucose
c it increases the affinity of the urine
d it decreases sodium reabsorption in the proximal tubule (ans)

can somebody explain this

the answer is correct.

carbonic anhydrase is worling on the prox. tubules.. the result of its action is hco3- and H+.. this H+ is exchanged with na+ ( secondary active antiport ) h+ out na+ in.

if u block the enzyme--no production of h+ no exchange.

61.polymerisation of amino acid to form procollagen filaments occurs
1.on ribosomes
2.in the golgi apparatus
3.on the fibroblast surface
4.in rough endoplasmic reticulum
5.after cleavage of registration peptide
ans in the key is golgi apparatus in 1985 paper..and in explanation it says on ribosomes.
can any one plz explain the collagen synthesis ...its a bit confusing...

if oxaloacetate is depleted hwo can krebs cycle function? krebs cycle works if there is constant supply of oxaloacetate and acetyl co-A

what are the linkages found in glycogen n starch??

glycogen and amylopectin have alpha 1,4 and branching has alpha 1,6
and amylose doesnt branch so it is just alpha 1,4 linkage linear molecule

motor nucleus of trigeminal nerve. ans
mesencephalic nucleus is involved with jaw reflexes but it is sensory so no control over muscles. and nucleus ambiguus is for laryngeal and pharyngeal uscles
