Thanks for setting this up! I got an interview at Vandy! Pretty excited. Anybody else hearing anything from any other programs? I figured it'd be pretty quiet for a week or 2 while they review stuff

Nope! Looking at last year it looked like the majority of programs sent out invites the last week of July and the first 2 weeks of August. Fingers crossed that's what's happening...

I haven't posted on this site in years... but here I go. This thread has been a lot less active than last year's! I'm going to break the silence for those of us who haven't heard back from any programs yet (it's still early!). Just wondering how many people are out there who have applied and how many programs everyone applied to! I'm med/peds and applying to programs from both sides, but was a little selective about where I want to go. So my list is 18 programs, which seems to be a lot less than many people who have applied in previous years. Good luck everyone!

It's funny. One day I day I woke up and decided I wanted to be an allergist...ok, so not one day, but seemed like it. I just made the decision after thinking of it for a short while, I don't know, several months. I never looked on SDN for advice or to see what others did.

So I made a 'mistake' and only applied to 5 programs. Wow. On interviews I heard everyone else's numbers and thought I was an idiot. I scraped by I guess and matched.

Anyways, I had the thought and wanted to share. SDN is a gem that somehow I overlooked for far too long.

Is fellowship match like residency where they send out more than one batch of invites ? Or is it all done in one batch? Meaning if a place hasn't sent you an invite by now and has sent others invites , can I just move on?

1 to 2 days on average, and from one program haven't gotten any response after two emails...

Typically I've heard back same day or next day from programs if I emailed them. I haven't heard anything from NC or Chicago programs. It's been quiet over here the past few days. I'm hoping to hear from more soon.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking but I have only emailed programs who have offered me an invite.

Wow, I completely butchered that question. It was supposed to be a general, "Are people emailing programs they are really interested in, but haven't heard from yet?" I feel like it's too early, but at the same time, with few interview spots per program, I'm getting nervous.

Haha I know what you mean. I still think it's early and I personally haven't sent love letters to programs. Don't lose hope, we still have time!
