Just an addition: I know someone posted before they heard from Baylor- peds. I received an invite from Baylor- medicine.

Nothing from the above, but did get an invite to KU and an email asking for a secondary application from UCSF.

Anyone heard from Children's Mercy / UMKC?

Heard from Children's Mercy on Friday, 8/18. Any word from UAB, Duke or Wake forest? Still waiting... I feel like either I've missed the boat or it can't be much longer. Almost September now

University of Michigan. Anyone have any resource regarding strengths/weaknesses of different programs?

Haven't heard anything new in almost a week. Have we reached the end of invites?

Did I miss something? I thought Case doesn't have a program. Or is it just an osteopathic program?
Case has an allergy/immunology fellowship. It just received ACGME accreditation making it fair game for MDs and DOs alike.

It's been oh so quiet. I'm pretty sure invites are over, but did anyone ever hear from the other UC schools (LA, Davis, Irvine)?

How are interviews going? We should start posting interview experiences and impressions.

Long shot - Is anyone interviewing at Upenn on the 22nd and would be willing to switch with me for the 15th?

Anybody here from SUNY downstate?

Got an email from a program that rejected me before saying they gave my application and second look and are inviting me. How should I feel about this? At this point, I don't even know if I can fit in an interview there at this point, but I also don't know what to think about this rejection-turned-invite.

Rank Lists are open!!! Would anyone like to trade thoughts/insight on places we have interviewed?

Hey for those of you who matched would anyone be able to talk about what their resumés looked like? Even if through PM.

I'm a PGY 2 IM resident from an American Med school at a university based program which has an AI fellowship. I'm just trying to see how I compare!

I have heard through the grapevine that there were several strong A/I Programs that went unfilled this year. Anyone hear anything about this or thoughts on what happened?

I heard 15 programs failed to match. Applicant pool was smaller than previous years as well. Blip or trend?

I had heard 13. Do you have a list of them? I’m also wondering if this will be a trend or just a fluke. I had also heard that there were candidates who went unmatched but I don’t know the numbers.

If you log into your NRMP account, under “options” there’s “reports” that will tell you. I believe you have to have access to NRMP for that year though.

And remember that posting that data before it’s publicly released by the NRMP might be a match violation, so I wouldn’t advise it.

The number and, probably even more so, the types of programs that went unmatched.

Agree. Wonder if they were looking for a certain “type” and maybe didn’t find it. Or maybe just overall numbers. I’m going to look at the numbers from last year and see if they’re drastically different.

Please post if you find or hear anything. I kind of wonder if the big name programs were over confident and didn’t interview/rank enough candidates or underestimated the number of programs candidates are interviewing at. It’s probably the same small number of candidates that are looking at “top” programs. I’m sure it will make call schedules and service coverage challenging if those spots stay unfilled

I just don’t understand why the shrinking numbers for applicants overall, which was talked about on the interview trail. The bigger name programs I interviewed at seemed like they had just as many people, if not more, than the other places I interviewed at, and also had a good variety of dates to choose from.

It looks like the total number of applicants to most subspecialties (at least in IM) shrunk, the notable exception being GI. I'd speculate that the abundance of high-paying hospitalist jobs played a role, but of course who knows.
