Monday!! all the best for new week!!

for IMG do we need to upload MSPE? also...

It looks like no Ivs for me. Can someone give me some input on plan B . What should I do to make my cv stronger for next year. Currently I will be doing hospitalist. How should I go about approaching for research at universities?

Oh, Thanks!! I uploaded my Dean's letter. I hope I'll get some interviews now :)

Ummmmm Endocrinology,I think it's too early to give up yet, isn't that right?i hope so because I haven't got anything yet either.maybe some of the others who are more well informed about this can tell us?

I sent MSPE from the start too and I think to have the strongest applications from what I have heard, you need a lot of good research and good letters.

I have very strong letters , and research I do have some research with a case report. I don't know may be I just applied in 8 programs due to family. Let's hope. This wait is killing me . I check my email at least a dozen of times hoping to get an iv.

Have anyone received interviews from NYC/NJ Area? It's already August 4th. Getting scared, I can Move but Don't want to.

I just jointed SND today mostly because I got two IV's on 7/25 (Madison Wisconsin) and 7/26 (UNC Chapel Hill) and haven't heard anything since then. Seems like most people on SND are still waiting. I also was placed on IV wait list for Brigham and Women's Hospital on 8/1. I don't think it's time to panic yet, but it's hard to stay calm :)

Yup, I agree with everyone else. There are a LOT of places that havent even started handing out invites yet - some wont start for 1-2wks. Maybe even the majority of places have yet to really start. Definitely no need to panic.

Re: NYC, the only place that I've heard of starting is Sinai. But I think they've only sent out a few so far and the bulk have yet to be distributed.

edit: Of course, what do I know about programs?, lol. I'm just as in the dark as everyone else. :)

I received a mesagge from Vermont University stating "Just a reminder that we will also need your MSPE prior to reviewing your application" Have you received anything like this? Are other programs requiring this prior to reviewing application? I am an IMG, finished my residency in 2010 just finished my J1 visa waiver... just wondering if I should go through all the pain trying to het my MSPE from medical school or just forget about Vermont.

Sure, I am an AMG, have one publication and three QI projects. I am also currently involved in two endo research projects. Other things are pretty minor - posters and departmental presentations.

Rejection from Brigham and Women's on 8/1 =(

IVs from Brown (7/28) and Johns Hopkins (today). =D

Sorry my UCLA rejection was yesterday (08/05)-I saw the date wasn't there on the list.

I also didn't know that QI projects were given a lot of precedence for fellowships?is that everyone's experience?great to know if it is!

Anything today anyone ? nothing here so far day ending...

I think programs started their Thursday and Friday interviews, so thats probably why it's been so quiet..

Vermont Uni today

Can anybody with past experience comment on whether interviews are predominantly scheduled only Thursday/Fridays? Because that seems to be the case thus far... it would help with planning if we knew that to be the case

so far I have monday, tuesday, thu and friday. so I think it varies everywhere

Silence on my end is super crazzzy !!!!
did not knw this was this competetive !!!!:thinking:

Should I wait or give up ??? i mean sign a job contract ???????

Don't give up. It's to early in the process, I think it's all about where did you apply, I still Don't see anyone getting interviews from NYC, Chicago, LA, more than half of the philly programs etc. Take also int account that interviews go all the way until nov and you can still get invites all august and september (See previous years). With this things no one knows. All you need is one.

No interviews on my end too.Im just holding hope that it's because I need visa and am waiting for some kind of second wave look through for IMGs.

I have no visa issues and still no Ivs :( I have just applied to Philadelphia programs ..

Hello Everyone Im starting to freak out, this is the date I have not recieved any interviews at all, no rejections though, no need for visa on my part, i have some case reports and a published abstract (not necessarily endocrinology though), only applying in the East coast, any advice? Im and IMG, are all of you who are getting interviews US grads?

Im on the same boat, difference is I applied everywhere and still nothing, I keep telling myself is because I applied end of July... so still waiting hopefully we will get something.

I have talked to several endo fellows and was told that many programs don't invite till 3rd and 4th weeks of August. There are several programs who send out interview invites through September. Keep calm and positive :)
