Hello, I am a non-EU medical student in Ireland, and I'm thinking about staying for an intern year. Because I lack EU citizenship, I get picked last for intern posts. As such, I am trying to figure out which posts are most popular, because it doesn't make sense for me to apply to them.
I'm looking at the Northwest intern network, and it seems that it is the most popular network for graduates of NUI Galway. Does anyone attending NUI Galway have any comment on which intern posts are ranked most often by graduates? Do people prefer to stay in Galway for the whole year, or spend six months at any particular peripheral hospital? Are there certain programs that are very popular which everyone puts as their first choice? How popular is the GP option in Letterkenny, and Letterkenny in general?
